This monster was inspired by a CAKE song of the same name.
Simultaneously feared and desired by mages, Cool blue reasons are the collections of negative energy and the absence of emotion. A Reason appears as a tapering worm of translucent blue-black color, nearing one foot in length at the time of creation, though through their feeding on emotion can grow to be miles long.
Reasons are fully sentient, and while driven by an insatiable hunger for life, do not express any need for sustenance, which, perhaps ironically, is the reason they feed. Reasons are telepathic, and their mental “voice” is always absent of all emotion. young mages, humans in particular, are emotional, power craving beings, and are the favored targets of Cool blue reasons.
The Reason feeds off emotion, making its target, while far wiser, a cold, emotionless, and most likely insane shell. A Reason openly displays its connection with it’s food source, unless it feels threatened.
While “higher” emotions, such as hapiness and and love are more satisfying to a Reason, “lower” emotions, anger, lust and sadness to name a few, are easier to inspire, and a cool blue reason is more likely to murder your sleeping family instead of get a job and buy that new horse for you.
When confronted (or attacking your loved ones) A reason lashes out with a powerful burst of negative energy, capable of killing most humanoids instantly. A being that is incapable of emotion due to a Reason’s contact that dies rises up as a Cool blue reason themselves at midnight the day the were killed unless the corpse is purified by then.

The concept itself of a emotionless etherial killer is nice, but it needs a purpose and a fulfilling nature. Which I understand are its desire for food. But why do they only desire that? WHy are the desired by mages? What is the purpose behind anyone wishing to own one or covet one so?
The Reason feeds off emotion, making its target, while far wiser, a cold, emotionless, and most likely insane shell.
In their feeding do they make the source more intellilgent. By reading this line it confused me. They feed off emotion yes, but what is the by product and how does it affect the source?
I think it has promise but I also feel it needs some fleshing out.
