The “Brothers of the Lash” is the teamsters/ drivers association, a powerful force in any town that does trade or has a port. They drive the wagons and manage the caravans, and in fact oversee trade, warehousing, and the like.

They are a remarkably diverse lot (they take members from many species). They are tightly united however, and everyone pays their rates. If they catch any non-members hauling goods, even a simple cart of produce, the offender is whipped and his animals (or slaves) are hamstrung.

Most of their members are humble cart drivers, but the Council of Senior Brothers (male, female, or otherwise) are powerful and rich.
