Lockzennite's Lance
By: Pieh

"All I could do was stare as my strange opponent hefted his key-like lance. He told me my armor would only hinder me in this fight. I didn’t believe him at the time, but he was right."

Full Item Description

An almost-typical lance with a brass color. The business end is shaped like the head of a oversized skeleton key.

History

This uncommon weapon was the symbolic weapon of the Lockzennite Order many years ago. The Lockzennite's believed in freeing your body and mind from the locked shackles of scholarly learning and even armor and clothing. Their symbol was a bent brass key, each of them wore only this unless clothing was forced upon them. They became a ferocious group and were known for aiding savage humanoids in their raids against more civilized settlements.

This radical group had very few members, and of those few, even fewer developed innate mental abilites. Those members created the Lockzennite's Lance. A tool that, when rammed into an opponent, would free him of his clothing and armor and, sometimes, open his mind in a very brutal manner.

Long after the Lockzennite's Order disappeared, these rare weapons still exist. Most consider them no more than historical oddities, but some powerful mages have replicated their effect for current day use without any of the spiritual connection.

Magic/Cursed Properties
When the key-shaped head of the lance strikes a target it unleashes a powerful burst of unfastening. This causes all locks, buckles, and latches near the impact to come undone and open up.

Very useful for dealing with heavily armoured knights.Less so for those without much armour.

A rather curious item. I definitely like the idea of a giant key, as both a symbol and a tool. I'd like to hear more about it, though: interesting times it's been used, how a player might come across it in-game. I'd *love* to hear more about these Lockzennites.

Sweet. This is pretty unique. I like the imagery of the key-lance and the symbolic meaning behind it. I dont know why but it reminds me of Alice in Wonderland tinged fantasy for some reason. I get visuals of heavy-armormed mounted knights, nervously looking across a battlefield at a column of armor-less Lockzennites, wielding their giant keys.

Gives a new meaning to "oyster-shucking" knights, as they were sometimes known when wielding lochaber axes, and other anti-armor weapons

The Lockzennite's believed in freeing your body and mind from the locked shackles of scholarly learning and even armor and clothing

Perhaps a bit more on their dogma and mantras?

I also like the key imagry. I also agree that it is very unique. Altough, the times that it would be of good use would be fairly limited.

is a lovely golden necklace that gradually transforms its wearer's skin into gold. Given enough time, this will prove fatal, but the wearer cannot remove the deadly jewelry without assistance. Some might be cruel and greedy enough to leave it on its victim...
