Demonforged Ice

The Writer glimpsed it in his journeys through the various hells, but he paid no heed to it. His tale was about the afterlife and the punishments therein, not the arms and armor of the Darkness.

Full Item Description
No mere words can describe the vast cold that radiates from this material, the terrible chill that sinks into the very bones of those around it. It looks simply like darkened, shadowy ice. Appearances can be deceiving.

Not all of the hell-realms are flaming torture chambers. Some are exactly the opposite, such as the eternally frozen Ice-Hell. There, the souls of the damned are punished by forcing them to mine this demonic ice, chip by chip. Using the hottest of flames, the demon-smiths can soften the ice enough to forge it into arms and armor that no mortal steel can match.

Magic/Cursed Properties
While the most intense heat can soften the ice, no mortal flame can do so, and even hellfire cannot melt demonforged ice. The intense cold radiating from the ice will cause instant frostbite to any mortal skin that touches it, and eventually everyone nearby will need to worry about frostbite as well. Most mortals cannot stand being anywhere near demonforged ice, thanks to it’s aura of frozen damnation.

Suffice it to say that in the vicinity, liquids freeze, breath begins to frost, and metal becomes painful to touch. All of this is merely the beginning, however.

Demonforged Ice is irreversably tainted with the essence of suffering and evil that imbues the icy hell it comes from. It will cause demon taint within those wounded by it, and eventually within any mortal who bears it. Such a taint corrupts the afflicted, as well as causes damage that cannot be healed save on holy ground. Death is the most merciful of outcomes that the tainted can have. If the taint is left to fester, it can consume them entirely, turning them into something best left unmentioned.

{Siren no Orakio} 10:20 pm: Needs a little note on how it gets out of Hell on occasion, though
{Chaosmark} 10:21 pm: Someone gets lucky and kills a demon wearing such armor, or makes a dark pact for it.
{Chaosmark} 10:21 pm: Same as with just about any demon-tainted item.

While traversing the tractless deserts of Shezmu, the pc's come across a travelling caravan led by Vual, the Demon-Camel, the Lord of Lust, the Thrice-Humped...Vual is cursed to only be able to assume one form outside the Abyss, that of a rather large, golden-skinned three-humped camel, with a frog-like, black, barbed tongue......

Vual is the demonic manifestation of Lust...his followers, a cult of truly disturbed individuals, engage in bizarre orgies, travelling the desert towns, "entertaining" the desert folk with their perverse antics...

Vual's Rapture is what the cultists call their monthly festival, where they perform perverse rites to honor Vual...ofcourse folk come from great distances to witness the festivals, despite themselves, and the Cult of Vual welcomes all...

Surprisingly for such a hideous creature, Vual has the power to beguile and charm with his magical voice. His voice will always sound to pcs as the voice of the person they most desire...his followers also gain this ability slowly over time...

When the pc's meet with Vual, he tries to seduce them into joining his cult. If for whatever reason the pc's resist..well then... Vual would probably kill them for sport, as a lesson for those who "resist Vual's love"....
