Gravestompers

By:

Some say you can’t keep a good undead down.  They’ve obviously not come face to foot with these boots.

Full Item Description
Gravestompers are a pair of calf-high boots made from a glossy black leather.  On the outwards facing side of each boot is a series of clips which one adjust the leather straps through in order to tighten or loosen the boot, but each clip also holds a silver bullet which can be removed by firmly tugging on the "bottom" of the bullet, which is facing upwards.

At the top and in the centre of the boot is a silver mechanical clip (like a seatbelt) that has a cross or other holy symbol engraved on it.

On the toe and heal of the boots is a silver plate that has a similar symbol on them.  Though the metal plate does not cover the whole sole of the boot, there is enough of the plate on either end of the boot that clinking can be heard when someone walks in these boots.

(by on the heal of the boot, I mean that it is on the back of the boot as well as the bottom of the boot where the heal is)

History
Orignally, these boots were made by someone who wanted to make a quick profit by selling these boots to warrior priest , paladins and the like but they become so popular that before too long religious organizations were making them themselves.

Magic/Cursed Properties
No real magical properties, however one could easily adjust the boots to effect the undead or enchant them to give them bonus damage op top of what is given by kicking or stomping with these boots.

An interesting idea, though these boots tickle the back of my brain like I should know they are from somewhere else (Castlevania perhaps? or Trinity Blood?). The initial use as a quick sell to religious types giving over to the religious types making them themselves is a nice touch. All in all, short but good work.

Gravestompers... sounds like a cool brand name. :)

I can hear the players ask "So who can bless my boots?"

Funny and good.

I think it might have been Kane the puritan who wore something similar. Need to dig out my old Conan's to check..

Amusing!

To me, a standard 3.0 piece although I agree the name is very fitting and has an enhancing effect on the piece.

Cool idea; this is what you get your priest who goes for that certain look. I could see a variety of these with different enchantments.

Khor are a monsterous and violent race. Within five years of being born, they grow to about half human size and are very, very inteligent. As they get older, they get larger... unfortunately they become less intelligent. After their adolecesence (about seven years), they grow to human size and are of a low human intelligence. As they age, they grow larger, slower, and stupider. Most of them end their lives 3 to 4 meters in height. Khor have been reported upto 10 meters tall, though those elder giant Khor do little but hit anything that disturbs them.

As they age they get larger, they don't seem to ever die of natural causes.
