Sagely Advice / Re: Creating an RPG
« Last post by Theadeaus3905 on Yesterday at 04:42:26 PM »
Hi there, How is the project going? My Name is Thad, and I created an RPG of my own called C.O.P.E
I've  posted some of my mechanics/Rules some where in Sagely Advice.
My System can be used for any Genre, So it can be done that way.
I use only a single die 20 (D20) No other dice are needed to play.
I guess My Advice would be think about how things are going to work and try to come up with a set of rules that fit your style of play.
You could have a list of skills for the characters, mechanics for melee, and so forth.
Is it pure for fun or serious reality.
There is a lot to work on in creating you own RPG.
Questions are welcome

Thad

Just watched Black Panther since it popped up in Netflix and I was out sick.

Meh.

I might be a bad example because I have stopped watching most of the super hero junk. Just not that entertaining to me. And the pitiful cameo by Stan Lee, they lost me at that point. It wasn't funny, wasn't natural, was way too forced. Entire movie felt that way to me, like they were jamming everything they could in it, still made it over 2 hrs and still had me not really giving a crap about any of the characters. And I didn't follow the comic so have no idea about that. But it reinforced why I gave up watching these films.

I also recently watched Black Panther, I didn't see it in the theatres but everyone was blowing up about how good it was, and they are still buzzing about how there is a campaign for it to get Best Picture at the Hollywood circle jerk awards. So I watched it. It was pretty good, but at no point it was NOT a comic book movie. At times the CG was over the top, and the overall plot and pacing were just okay.

I can appreciate it for what it is, a tent pole blockbuster black ensemble movie that isn't based on crime, slavery, or sports.

I would contrast it with Logan (a brutal end of the road movie that happened to have the last X-men in it) or Captain America: The Winter Soldier (a great spy movie)

Glad you joined Ardel!  And many of us with English as our native language have much more difficulty getting a sentence out. Welcome to the Citadel!!

Hello!

I'm new here, but I'm not new to RPGs. English isn't my native language, but I'm trying my best. So now I want to contribute a little to the community and gain something for myself.

I hope we will have fun together.

Heh. I'm half-watching Parks and Rec - my wife and my son watch it, I listen while I play World of Warships or Witcher 3.

Per the standing rules, you can claim pretty much any land and start creating on it. If it has sat for a month, it is free game.

I don't think a purge or maintenance is needed, just stake a secondary claim the territory you want to work and do your thing. If the person comes back, will be collaboration. Shouldn't be a problem, has happened to a few of them already. Creative is creative is creative. Even if it doesn't match what the original author was thinking...who cares. Alternate history? Call it a fork of the current land? Still good creative stuff going on and that is the point.

That being said, I am working on Vartanadel which should give me 3 more months to add the expansions I am working on. Wouldn't care if people did stuff to it. I am doing my thing and may or may not use something they added. The beauty of the entire thing.

So, go for it Fiendrunner!!!

I think it is free.

But perhaps we could have a purging of the undeveloped regions?
