call me Thad...I've been Gaming for over 33 years...I've played every Edition of D&D, Gammaworld (First ed), Shadowrun, Cyberpunk, Rifts, Gurps, Fudge, And more than i can remember...Mostly as a Game Master...of table top, pen & paper games.
In real life... I was Aramis of the Musketeers for 8 years at a Renaissance Festival. I know how to ride horseback, Fire a Musket, And Fight with Rapier & dagger. and speak French. 

I'm actually creating my own RPG and Core rules.
My Game mechanics can work in any setting, genera, time or place, I have technology ages ranging form Stone Age, Iron Age, Renaissance age, Modern Age, and Future Age.
Characters can be Anyone they so chose from any setting or Book, or Movie, or Video Game, TV show or from their own imagination.

I class them into Any "Humanoid" Any "Animorphic" any "Sentient animal" any "Cyborg", any "Android" or Any "Plant"
Their are 6 main attributes and 4 sub attributes, and it's a skill based game. Skill range form 1-30 falling into these categories: Novice, Proficient, Specialist, Expert, Master, and Grand Master.
The "Action Roll" is open ended which means if you roll a 20 on a d20 you roll it again and add it to you previous roll. This way even a novice could roll 3 20's in a row and accomplish a an incredible roll/feat of skill.
It's also Strictly a d20 game no other die are needed to play

Because i was trained in Rapier & Dagger combat I used that knowledge to reflect it in my game when it came to Combat/melee...

Characters roll for regular initiative to see who goes first, The first person to go goes on the "Advance". Each level of Mastery has so many Advances it cam use to attack: Novice 1 advance, Proficient 2, Specialist 3, Expert 4, Master 5, and Grad mater 6 so this is how many times the Attacker can advance on the defender, The defender has to block, parry, dodge, every advance made (Skill VS Skill) NOT Armor class, Armor absorbs damage. After the attacker used his Advances  he becomes Defender and in Turn the defender become attacker and use his/her advances on the new defender...IF However the Defense Roll is 10 points higher that the Attack roll on the actual dies rolled the Defender thwarts any and all advances the attacker could have used against him and then the Automatically switch sides the defender becomes the new Attacker and the previous attackers goes on defense battle continues until there is a winner.

No Luke, I am your father!  That one phrase sent shockwaves through all of my friends and I when we saw the Empire Strikes Back when it was first released.

Watch it again... Vader does NOT say the word "no" Just "Luke I am your Father"  I know... Its called a Mandela effect look it up on google.
Another example" Forest Gump's Classic line... "Life is like a Box of chocolates..." If that's how you remember it.. it's wrong watch it again and you'll see that's not what he said.
Another one: Mister Rodgers Neighborhood..."It's a beautiful day in the Neighborhood...: nope that's not it either

Mostly read: Steven King, Dan Brown, Ted Dekker, Tolkien, CS Lewis, Dean Koontz, Robert Jordan but now anything Steampunk...I just went to a Steampunk Convention, And now I'm Hooked, Got the Outfit (costume) to boot.

It has it 's up & downs...creating a Game that I've always wanted.
I am eventually going to publish it via the Web as a PDF, I just hired an Artist to Illustrate the work.

Welcome Theadeaus. That is a lot of vowels.

Thanks for joining and sharing. I think most of us here have either dreamed of writing a book or a game system so congrats on doing one of your own! It might be quiet here but I hope you find the site full of ideas to get you rolling. Definitely no shortage of that. As you move about and comment many folks will be resurrected to visit the trail you leave. Thanks for being part of the citadel!

Well creating, crafting, Weapon smith, Black smith, Cyber tech, Nano tech, Fletching , Electronics and Juryrig are all skills in my game so they fall in the same mastery levels as above and each has a sub skill of Build & Repair so they use there skill in Crafting vs Time and tools available.

Social skill are , Bluff, Bribe, Barter, Seduction, Credibility, Disguise, Diplomacy, Etiquette, Leadership, again falling into the same Mastery level as above. In reality its the players who play the characters with any social skill.

All Weapons have a Damage class rating, you roll a d20 and compare it to the Chart I made to see how much damage it does

All armor absorbs dame and can break over time, each piece of armor has a "durability" rating based on quality and skill of the maker who made it. but each hit on armor lessens it durability
