Does your game world have a Christmas, Chaunuka, Kwanza, like holiday? If you do, what is it like? If you don't, why don't you?

Not that it has to be during winter....but my games rarely get cold

I have holidays but they are usually just festivals celebrating a king's coronation or something. I really like making Mardi Gras adventures with the costumes and mayhem. Easy for the bad guys to hide....same with the PCs.

Christmas? Nope. No presents or anything like that.

Not a bad idea though!

Fictional setting where you set games. Go look at the Antasia, Kerren, Deadspace, and like threads for examples.
I haven't gotten as far as organized holidays yet, I barely have a religion. I don't think I will, though. Like Strolen, I like the idea of masquerades and such things. I dunno. I may incorporate that. *Pulls out World Notebook and starts jotting things down*

Depends on the region your in.

In Breton, they celebrate the Birth of Artur, the famous king-messiah.
In Kalasa, they celebrate Dicefeast on the anniversary of the birth of the God of Gambling.
In Stalimsoth, they celebrate the Feast of Holy Achelous, the birth of their local water god.

So on, so on.
But no real "Christmastime" holiday.

Meep, game worlds sound interesting! (once more i apologies for knowing so little yet) Can anyone set up a game world? (Not that if I would be ready for something like that in a looong time) However, it sounds captivating and lots of work/ Especially if you have to think of things like holidays as well

A game world is a calling I think. Anybody can definately make up a game world but it is a lot of work. There are a few threads in the Hints/Tips - Articles/Essays about it that are definatly worth a read.

So much work that many of us forget about the holidays.

While I don't exactly use it in any game worlds I DM at the moment, (Sadly, Zero), I do have a free-form character who celebrates the winter solstice.

He celebrates it by locking himself in the safest, most fortified place he can possibly find. On the day of the longest night, the creatures of darkness are the most powerful, and it is on this night that they claim the most souls. It is on the morning after, the Day of the Survived, that surviving children are finally given names, that the new year is celebrated, and it's frequent on that same day after that marriages are made/proposed.
