Too bad. That "You spoony bard" is my signature. You set it in your profile.
Capitalize your I's.
"I'm" and "you're" have apostrophes in them.
You should have used "your" instead of "you're".
"You're" is a contraction of "you are". "Your" implies ownership.

Yes, I did get "You spoony bard" from Final Fantasy 2/4j. I don't see how that matters. After all, it's still my signature.

It's there at the bottom of the page.

You two need to stop playing so many video games. It's making you argue violently.  :P

Anyone can have any signature they want, it's part of thier personality.

Now stop yelling at each other before this becomes a flame war. Keep the discussion on topic and using the best spelling and grammer you can.

Have a nice day. :D

Yeh, before it becomes a flame war like the other 5 threads and 7 submissions.

Video games do cause violence. That is their purpose. They were invented by a criminal syndicate that promotes violence and anarchy. The ignorance of the corporate mechanism and their greed for capital gain allowed them to adopt the new 'entertainment' into mainstream society allowing the violence to propagate in the home and in the public. Through creative advertising and increased juvenile acceptance the video game industry, with the backing of crime lords and using brute tactics, has steadily increased the amount of violence to cause a near epidemic outbreak of murder, death, kill in our innocent society. It will continue to escalate until marshall law is declared in newly declared city-states and the lands attempt at anarchy will be threatened by military retaliation. An underground movement, motivated and suggested by the lastest video game, will gain access to nuclear weaponry and, the military on the threat from the nucleonic faction, will initiate thermal global nuclear war turning our world into something kin to Fallout II.

So, yes, video games propagate violence as any Neanderthal could figure out.

What Strolen says is true, however, is it not also true that there are some videogames that take a particularly anti-war, anti-violent stance?
For instance, the horrors of war are noticeable theme in a number of Final Fantasy games, Xenogears, Suikoden series (Especially Suikoden) and other games. Notice, however, that the majority of games which do not promote violence are RPGs, as opposed to action games, which are almost (I stress "almost") always based in bloody violence.
So, I take back my former statement.
Some games don't cause violence.
But some do.

Some games are violent themselves. They have the refresh rate of gunfire synched to the trigger mechanism in autistic and epileptic people which will cause seizures and sometimes death.

This is a more direct form of the violence that emanates directly from the video game as opposed to indirect contact through subliminal messages embedded in every single game.

All video games have a violent undertoe that will draw in and trick the unsuspecting.

CP, you were brainwashed by the machine. The game may 'appear' to be advocating anti-war sentiments but in actuality it is underminding and contradicting itself every step of the way.

Even the old Atari Holly Hobby and Stawberry Shortcake games were slowly twisting popular perceptions of the negativity of violence. Nobody is safe. Video games are the devil and will be the downfall of our society.

Video games have been created to inflict harm on the society and individual. Look at the epidemic proportions of youth carpal tunnel syndrome. Moonhunter can attest to this. How many emergencies has he experienced of jeuviniles coming in with their hands, unmoveable and cramped into unuseable gnarly claws and had to be amputated?

DON'T LET MAINSTREAM COMMERCIALISM CORRUPT YOU INTO SELF MUTILATION OR VIOLENCE. FIGHT THE POWER. RETAIN YOUR INDIVIDUALITY!!!!

Well, I don't. And i have to agree with CP here that games like suikoden DO NOT CAUSE VIOLENCE. The purpose of that series was obviously about anti-war. And, I doubt that every single video game company is corrpupt so I can't really believe you in this manner.

I believe, Magus, that Strolen may be being just a little bit spurious. Y'know. He's going for laughs.
I and the rest have talked like this about videogames many times before, and he's not burst into any anti-videogame rants, so I believe that he's not being serious.

I was actually going for facetious, but spurious is applicable. Good $2 word.
