A better name for Bugbears

Allright, making another attempt to draw in some fresh people and some fresh ideas. I'm looking for one name they would use themselves, and one that humans and civilized folks would use. And remember, Bugbears are part of the Goblinoid family, which also contains Goblins and Hobgoblins. So it's not as simple as them calling themselves "the people", since all goblinoids speak the same language. They need to be able to discern themselves from their other kin.

I'm not sure what exactly I'm looking for, as long as it sounds good, and preferably makes some sense. Any suggestions much appriciated.

Allright, I get where you're coming from. Latin for bear and all that. Not bad, but that would be pretty hard to pronounce ring-side if y'know what I mean. Mal-Ursa might be better, but I dunno. It doesn't really give away the connection with goblins and hobgoblins (of course, neither does bugbear). Ursagoblin sounds weird. I'm not saying the name has to contain goblin though. Something with the same "beat" to it though would probably be the best, same as in the gnome thread, bug-bear, bam-bam.

Am I the only one that have looked at the name bugbear and thought, man that's a dumb name?
Maybe should just write it down to there being so few people on now.

Anyways, was looking for synonyms for bugbear, found loup-garou. Apparently it just means werewolf but...

Goblin, hobgoblin, gargoblin.... I dunno. It sounds a bit... *sigh* I dunno.

I don't think I've every used them enough for it to matter to me what their name was.

The bigger monster then hobgoblin for me was generally Ogres. Quite the jump from 1+1 to 4+3.

Yeah, that's just me getting stuck on details I guess. But y'know what they say...the uh...proof is in the pudding? No...Something about details being important though. Details make the...design/difference....I dunno, something. It kinda breaks the immersion y'know. "Dear Pelor! What is that hairy drooling monster charging us?" "Oh that? That's a bugbear." "...A...bugbear?" "Yeah..." (Long awkward silence ensues).

I've been kinda wanting to have a bugbear crimelord in my game, but I haven't been able to find a picture with a well dressed smart looking one. And of course, the whole issue about the name.
