well im bored so I was wondering what kind of music you listen to. I like just about everything. Right now my fave song is evanescence You.

4. Everything by Stained (I really really like that band)
5. She's Gonna Make it by Garth Brook (cause im sailing through those dark clouds forming.)

Hard to vote for a single type, but my favorite is alternative...but depending on what I am doing.

Driving/Coding = Rammstein or other industrial usually. I am an aggresive driver...especially in Japan. Need rage music to code. Matrix CD is a good one too.

When wife is in the car = anything but Industrial.

Studying - Classical, Boroque mostly.

Listen to alternative type and some ska in most other situations.

NEVER country. NEVER crap..I mean rap. NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER R&B or whatever they call that popular crap that Spears and those types sing. Give me Hank Williams before Britney Spears and any of that style.

hmmmmm, my choices are not here....

Clasical, Country (that one is), Folk, Disco, .....
Anything but the loud stuff.

to give you some real examples:
Clasical: Tsjaikovsky, Mousorgsky, Ravel, Grieg, Field, Sjostacovich, Prokovief. To sum it up: most russian, some italian and americans, but not the germans.

Country, Willy the vile, Johnny Cash, Kenny Roggers... etc.

Disco: Abba, Queen, Rolling Stones, Dire Straits, The Police, Meat Loaf, Tina Turner, Chris Rea, Mike Oldfield, The Parson Project, ... (oke, perhaps not disco, but more middle of the road entertainment)

Folk: Magna Carta

I think my favorite music must be (in random order)
Lord of the Ages, Magna Carta
Tea for Two, Shjostacovic
Casser la Voix, Patrick Bruel
Je te le dis quand meme, Patrick Bruel
Paradise by the dashboard light, Meat Loaf
but I must have forgotten a couple now

I like truly wierd stuff. I'm a Malice Mizer (freakish J-rock group) fan, as well as a major fan of E Nomine, which is a German group that does mostly techno/rock versions of Christian hymns. It's interesting to say the least. Celtic, classical, metal, rock, soft rock, oldies, etc. I like pretty much everything except for rap and death metal.

Queen, the Beatles, E Nomine, Darkest of the Hillside Thickets, Mozart, lots and lots of videogame and computer game soundtracks (Final Fantasys, Breath of Fires, Castlevanias, others), Modest Mouse, Tenacious D.

I dislike country and rap (Though I sort of like Outkast), hate pop.

Oh, about rap: I do like some rap, just not the widely known commercial rap. I like something that's called underground hip-hop, which includes bands such as Living Legends, which is cool. They actually have a message, instead of "I like women and diamonds and booze".

Pop...yeah. I hate that stuff. Worst in the world. It is amazing how much bad music people like to listen to.

Rap...hate rap. Some of it will entertain me for a few moments though. Some of Eminem's stuff is humorous in small servings. Back in the days Easy E was pretty funny, Marky Mark had some good stuff.....just kidding...although he turned into a halfway decent actor. Beastie Boys are always going to have a soft spot in my heart because of Paul Revere and Girls (still have those songs memorized).

Bohemian Rhapsody....not sure if Waynes World permanently damaged me to that song or helped endear it. Love the song though but that car scene comes to mind everytime.

The Beastie Boys are the only rap band outside of underground hip-hop that I like.

I happen to like instrumental pieces. They can be Jazz, they can be Orchestral (Movie and game soundtracks fall into this), they can be tech (synthversions) or big band.

I do like vocals as well, they are just not my first choice.

Classics (Mostly Russian Composers, but the Italians produced some good music 200 years ago)

Big Band/ Swing from 40s
Goodman, Sinatra (though later, part of the movement)

Duwap, Early Rock from 50s
(Elvis, and lots of bands )

Beach/Summer, rock, and pop from the 60s
Beatles, Birds, Doors,

Disco (House Music for the old), Country Rock, and Pop from the 70s
ELO, BG, D Summers, Chicago

Just about anything from the 80s (Pop, Rock, Metal, Techno, Trance, NeoClassical, Fuzion (Jazz flavor)
Cars, Genesis, Anyone who ever involved with Genesis, Police, Air Supply, et al

From the 90s- Jazz, New Country, New Techno, Newer brand of Rock. J-POP!!!!!

From 00s?- Extend 90s

In short. I do not like Western, Rap, and Most folk music. Everything is fair game.

And others, not a few of those were already mentioned. I voted for alernative, although it is more 'alternative' to the always trendy stupid pop-music (with rare exceptions...).

RAP IS VILE!!!!

Everything else, though, I will listen to, depending on my moods. When plotting evil things to do to players, I usually listen to something thoughtful that doesn't require much concentration, along the lines of Sting or Phil Collins. Working out requires something powerful and rhythmic, along the lines of Korn or Rammstein (Which is what is in my CD player in my basement right now). Driving requires something upbeat, like Tatyana Bulanova or Anjelika Varum (Lots of Russian pop/techno), and vegging out requires, usually, the radio for random assortment.

I'm SO happy that I live in Finland because now I can enjoy all the great Finnish rock bands that you can't. (Mostly because they sing their songs in Finnish) Like a Finnish rock veteran Ismo Alanko, or a great Kalevala metal rock group CMX (also known as Cloaca Maxima). And of course we have the bands and artists we're really proud of when they perform abroad like Stratovarius, Nightwish, Kimmo Pohjonen, Rinneradio and Children Of Bodom!

But: Enough commercials.

I like to listen to Rammstein, Outkast, Genesis, Ismo Alanko, CMX, Sielun veljet (known as L'amourder abroad), Pink Floyd, BjÃƒÆ’Ã‚Â¶rk, David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, ELO, Lou Reed, Led Zeppelin, Kingston Wall, The Clash, The Crash... just to say few examples. There are no bad music genres, there are only bad artists and songs that suck.

Yeah, and if you really want to hear some crazy s**t, get CMX's song "Rautakantele" (Iron Kantele) from somewhere.
