which room are we in on the map? The only indicators I am seeing in the posts are 'the big door' which does me no good since I have not read everything that occurred before I started

Okay, though building the jammer - really a focused pulse device, since building a more sophisticated devices would need several hail-mary rolls to succeed, is not something to be accomplished under flashlight, especially since you are not modifying a similarly functional device. Something as simple (!) as a cell phone, walkie talkie or even the magnatron from a microwave oven would do nicely.

The Doors have no visible hinges, and did not automatically open at your approach.  Best guess from the structure of the doors are that they might slide to the side.

I've been thinking. On the one hand I think that LW's idea is great, however, we've got our GM saying that I need this and I need that, and to top it all off, it'll take at least a whole day to put it together. Now, do we have a day? The ventilation system has been shut down. In an airtight bunker, that might very well mean that we're on the clock right now, not to mention any enslaved humans on the lower levels. The big bad isn't likely to be on this very floor at least, but is it at all feasible to make this thing and use it against it? I mean it's basicly an off-switch for every enslaved chiphead we meet, might even work on robots, so, I get why he doesn't want us to have it, at least not cheaply. :P

I guess, we're close to the cafeteria, so if there was a microwave around there somewhere... Otherwise, keep looting I guess? I would vote for cleaning out the first floor and then we'll see what we see.

Again, it depends on how selective you want the jammer to be.  Getting an existing implant (check) will allow you to see of you can narrow the EMF spectrum you need to blast, reducing the chances of collateral damage and boosting the damage in the selected range.


Mechanically, it will be like a spell with a saving throw against it's effects.  You can choose if you want to make it an area effect, cone,touch or ranged touch device, with the save DC increasing as you make it more focused.  This will also be impacted by whatever powersource you manage to hook it up with. Watch batteries - not so much. Fusion cell? Better have quality workmanship :P


Failure by a small amount will stun the victim. By a lot will fry the chip, with cascade effects from that you won't know until you try.

What really kills me is once I get all this stuff, I'll most likely fail the craft checks anyways. I just know it. Could the DC be increased or decreased by taking less or more time? There's gotta be more electricians and specialists than just me in town. But in either case, I don't think we've got the time for another stop back to Kenebac, so, find a workshop in here then. And then it would just be me and my acursed rolls unfortunately...

Considering that _not_ exiting the room would have likely lead to a character exiting this realm of reality, I assumed that Anya followed Asha hightailing it.

But if Anya wishes to stay put, then I'll need a dexterity saving throw.  The charge is not a small one.
