well, I guess a dragon would not wish to be remembered, because they are always seen as evil. So I guess your right in that aspect.

Alot can happen in four days Capn'!  I wouldn't say that  dragons are seen as evil by most there are many civilizations that have respected even venerated dragons and somw that still do.  depending on what historical view point you are taking with the dragons you may or may not see them as Immortal (most will see them as immortal being this will be the view point I will be taking also) It is my belief that it is not the being remembered that the dragons want no part in; it is the contact which is the predecessor to the memory.  As most other beings are mortals,  the dragons' hesatate to get to close, because they know that will eventually die; that is not a felling that they will willingly repeat.

It's not so much immortality, save among a handful of my cousins, as it is an obscenely long lifespan. When even the supposedly immortal elves end up dying long before you're even feeling the first twinges of age, it can get a bt depressing if you don't adapt.

Of course, there's also the simple fact that, let's face it, othe races are little, soft, and weak in comparison. We're solitary and generally carnivorous by nature. We don't tend to keep pets, and that's about what the average mortal amounts to... Sometimes a vicious, bloodthirsty, feral pet, but pets still.

As long as we're talking about having infinite quantities of stuff, like life or intelligence, why not also talk about omniscience?
It's like immortality, except, instead of living forever, you know everything.
Wouldn't it be kind of boring to be omniscient?
I mean, there would be nothing new. You would know all of it!

Well, what about sea dragons?
I would consider them to be more gentle than yer' usual red.
Water: Let's swim around, then I'll talk a bit, and if I like your style, I won't eat you!

And then the Grehom breed:

...What the hell? It's not subzero? ...I like it here. I'm gonna take a nap. ZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZzzz... Eh? What're YOU? A human? What's that? You don't look too edible... Go away. Let me sleep.

yes, because dragons are so strong, people feel threatened, and the only way to abate that feeling is by destroying their threat. So being so powerful is a double-edged sword for the dragons. As for being omniscient, isnt that a paradox?
1-because you know everything, that means you know a way to discover something new.
2-because you know everthing, there is nothing new to discover.
3-combine the two, and it just doesnt work.

Not necessarily.

If there is no way to discover something new, then you can't find the way to find something new.

And yes, smaller creatures tend to panic like that.

Do you blame them?  Tell me I read in a diffrent thread that you believe that you were some sort Dragon in a past life. I have the utmost respect for that and want to know did you ever have a human friend(or other man-like race) or can you remember? if so what was that person like and what did you see diffrent in that indivdual that you either can't see or refuse to see?

Several. Some of them keep following me, or I them, from lifetime to lifetime.

And what makes you see something different in a friend of your own species?
There's the answer.

i have no friends from my past life. I believ I was more of a rouge, an evil night as you will. Therfore I have only brought enemies. Maybe Kassil is one as we seem to have many animostities towards each other, I hope we can resolve past issues!

you know I am not sure I have a past life. I mean there are times when I think I might but I will usually just put it off as my imagination.  I have always been told that it has away off running off with my thoughts!

I firmly believe that everyone has had a past life of some sort or other. Our current values reflect on who we were. (Semi-budhist, but not full, technically I am a Christian.)

well, I dont really remember anything. I jst have an amazing fascination with the times, and I understand them better and easier than most. Also, all evidence points more towards evil knight than good.

Eh......
I myself do not believe in past lives, but if that's your bag, you go on with all that.
Personally, I think that if you die, it's over. You're dead. No afterlife. No reincarnation. Just the end of activity in the brain, the oblivion of consciousness, the extinguishing of the spirit. Unless you become a ghost, of course.

It's not a power. It's an accidental happening.

but that means that you do believe in an after life, after all the definition of a ghost is "the spirit of a dead person" if every one has teh ability to become a ghost what happens to the spirits that do not choose to become ghosts?
