Actually, sniperspy, what you shouldn't like about the Middle Ages should include:
The Black Plague
Bandits and Robbers
Sickness
The way they treat sickness
Being killed by a knight for not showing respect
Unresponsive monarchs
Filthy, filthy, filthy, smelly people
Sickness
Sickness
Did I mention sickness?
And, like you said, the music.

Let's not forget the sewage and waste problems. Without sewage pipes and the convenience of garbage trucks, things got quite messy.

Then there are the fleas, and ticks and lice.

Oh yeah! There also was rats that carried the fleas that brought the plague and bit and infected unsuspecting people.

Also there was no A/C, nor insulation (brrrr).

Na, Despite its "flaws" I would love to live in medieval times. I am just fascinated with that period!

I understand. But the challenge of fighting the plague and diseases and other knights just seems incredibally attractive to me. I don't know why, but thats what I think!

I still think that you don't understand.

On another subject, I understand that climbing Mt.Everest used to be some sort of challenge, yeah? So why are 40 year old bankers from New Jersey doing it?

What? There are BANKERS climbing Mt. Everest? That seems a little dangerous. Not much climbing work at a bank.

It's just a more subtle form of imperialism. We go in and we pay and pay and pay to visit the holiest sites of these people's cultures and dominate them! We pay out the ass to visit the icy, wind-slashed, godforsake top of a mountain! We hemmoraghe money so that we can dive into the jungle and introduce pygmys to paper cups. It's ridiculous.

It's no wonder that aliens from space have not contacted us in the worlds present status. If they did, bored rich people would build space shipps and invade their homeland and give them twinkies and nukes.

intelligent life indeed.

That is the way I feel, too. But it seems that all of the people visited by 'Aliens' were not too bright. Like they were Rednecks. But I guess we (the rednecks) are the only people who believe that they truley exist.

There are extraterrestrial, intelligent beings out there, as well as nonintelligent beings, and lifeforms more bizarre than we can imagine. Give the incomprehendable size of the Universe, there must be at least some extraterrestrials.

The problem with the arguements for/against the belief of extaterrestreal life is that neither side has any proof. Every arguement made to substantiate there is is purely hypothetical, and to say there is none is guess-work, because we have not been everywhere in the universe.
