Needed: 3.5 to 5 PCs. GoT world knowledge/familiarity big bonus, but not crucial. You can design your own characters or I can hand-out pre-generated ones.

I can be the .5 random character. As long as I can randomly be a dark elf assassin that rides a dragon, has a pet direwolf and commands the army of the north.

I've only read the first book, so my knowledge of the world is perhaps limited. Still, I'd be happy to play a pregen if you're still looking for players.

I've read the first four books and was surprised with how close the first season stuck to the first book. I have yet to watch the second season. Yes I'm that lazy. I have never done a pbp type of game but it would be interesting. If you need someone who is randomly there and has maniacle behavior when he is then count me in. Otherwise. All hail a society where mishapen dwarves get the hot chicks and can slap kings. Booya.

random thoughts:

--Not everyone can be a sword-wielding, armored, bad-ass. Need some other types as well. Maesters (clerics), thieves (thieves), weird exotic types from across the narrow sea, places like Qarth (mage), young kid (there are a lot of young kids in this world), etc

--Need to ponder a bit on why six-seven people of very (distinctly) different backgrounds are all hanging around together...all part of the Nightswatch? Rebels and bastards united for common cause? Part of a mercenary company? Coincidental serendipity? Met at an inn?

Other? Hmmmm

--Need to ponder time-frame of events. Who is king currently and all that.

valadaar (giving me creative license to assign him any character i come up with. Has not read books, or seen show (blasphemy!), but claims to be familiar with "intrigue" :p)
Kassy (any preferences, generally speaking, as far as what *type* of character?)
Scras (note to self: Scras wants to be a Lannister)

A general rule of thumb, a Lannister will never be of the Night's Watch... just saying.

Greyjoy's are kind of badass if you get past the whole part where their woman are more of a man than you are.
Targaryen are sadistically cool...
The Starks are my all time favorite... the most pessimistic people of them all. yes Winter is coming... and when it does you will all die and we will live on.
House Baratheon seem to me like the frat house of football players who love to party and fight...
House Tully... no real opinion. They are the Tea Party of Westeros to me.
Lannisters are the Kennedys' of Westeros.
Dothraki are some mixture of plains indian and mongol horde. Interesting but unless your all dothraki it doesn't work.
Night's Watch, generally they are probably the coolest of all the different groups being outside of politics but also when you look right down to it they are the most important political group there is no one gives them credit for it however.

As long as I can play a pretty thief proficient with throwing knives, then I'm happy

I'm not really a fan of run of the mill overpowered char, always wielding a sword.

EDIT: I'm at the same level as val on GoT knowlge, having just started Reading the first book, and not going to watch the series until after reading all of the books. (I prefer to imagine things, rather than having actors replace my imaginative abilities)

Honestly Silver, watching the show I found that the actors that were cast were the PERFECT choice. All of them looked as I had imagined, except Queen Cersi, and they all acted as I figured they should. This wasn't a Stephen King adaptation but it was as if the book was a screenplay for the series. I think it was perfectly done.

Aye, I felt much the same, the show hooked me form the get go, has replaced Fire Fly as my all time favorite tv show ever.

I especially like the unrated approach they took to the series, (much like HBO did with Spartacus Blood and Sand and Masters of the Arena) which gave it the much needed connection tot he books it would have otherwise sorely lacked.

I remember seeing the hack job they did of Wizards Fist Rule and subsequent novels for television, (Legend of the Seeker) and couldn't help but be endlessly amused at the G rated Mordsith and how Darken Raoul was present himself as a pretty boy push over that reminded me more of that Reading Rainbow guy from PBS then of any character from the novels.

Anyhoo, I hope to be joining this game as well, and have PM'd Muro with a char concept and idea, hopefully there's still room for me.
