Siren's Song (Sailors be warned!)

I don;t know why the sight of blood, especially their own, upsets some people. I am sure they cannot help themselves, but it is just blood. I don't get squemish when Im bleeding, if its on my hands I'll suck it up (it tastes pretty good, and this way you don't lose it) or if its on my legs (where I usually get cut up from soccer games) I just wash it off with some water and it is instantly forgotten.

Mostly, people don't even think of their own blood, but other people's blood, especially large quantities, is somewhat of a subconcious taboo among humans. Other taboos that humans usually subconciously have are corpses and death.

I can tolerate my own blood, and even other people's blood. Blood is okay. But other things.... I don't know. As long I can't visualize it, I'm fine.

I don't know, I just don't get squeemish (sp?), even at corpses. (And yes I have seen a few, at a morgue) My biggest phobia is actually thunder. It sounds wierd but I get jumpy whenever there is a big storm. I am fine when lightning hits a hill on an island 40 feet away, but when the thunder-clap hits I get jittery.

Oh me too, and we have them all the time where I live. I swear, the thunder strikes so hard it makes people's windows rattle. Then the power goes out for a minute or two, and then lightning strikes... one lady got struck by lightning... and my brother's car got struck by lightning while driving and well... storms freak me out. My mother let me watch to many horror movies that took place during storms as a five year old.

I find lightening storms kinda relaxing, actually.
Conan! What are three great things in life?

To crush your enemies; to have them flee before you, and to hear the lamenations of their women.

I like the sound of rain rattling on my roof combined with thunder. It's soothing and makes the covers feel warmer.

I like the gentle rains, but storms with lighting and thunder is just plain scary.

Nah... nothing is better than than a fierce storm raging outside then getting curled up with a great book even better when the power goes out and you read it by candle light!

I like to read by candle light! Fantasy books are especially good because the lighting enhances the aura othe book, and helps bring you into the world!
