Daughter got a la la loopzy (or whatever) but it has this hair on either side that you can move and adjust in an assortment of ways....an assortment that when extended looks much like the tentacles of Cthulhu coming out of the depths. So I have my daughter calling it her Cthulhu-doll now. Whenever the hair isn't curled, it is in Cthulhu mode.

This morning when she woke up she told me, "Last night mommy put me in bed with Cthulhu."

You know, when I was writing my zombie robots thread, the image I had in my mind was reploids. So I can totally see this.

That said, don't discount regular civilian worker-bots. Their environment and work requirements have the same sort of difficulties as military bots do, which means giving them human forms makes a reasonable amount of sense. And there would be a whole lot more of them than mil-bots.

Oh I concur absolutely, the military robot and military power armor both grew out of civilian robots and civilian power hard suits.

I would, the setting is certainly large enough that before the game we would need to make some decisions, like all mecha, or a CogNet based game, parapsychic fighting or whatnot, so everyone's character is on the same general page

If you honestly think that you can plagiarize someone else's work and not get caught, you are an idiot. Twenty years ago, you could do it and stand a chance. Today? I've got a nifty little tool called "Google", which excels at finding matching documents from text fragments. So that code you just copied from a tutorial and didn't bother to change at all? Yeah, that was the first hit on my search.

I applaud your audacity and resourcefulness. Laziness is a job requirement for our profession. You should always try to avoid reinventing the wheel. Your job application is still going to the bottom of my trashcan, because the point wasn't to get something I could actually use, it was to show that you could build it on your own.
