I've been noticing a lack of Meta items in the archive and was thinking ways to fix that. Problem is, I dunno what constitutes as a meta item as metaphysical hard to make into a usable item. Anyone has an example I could work with that would be metaphysical?

If you look at the 'Explain Categories' page linked to from the item submission page (link), you'll see that 'Meta' items are those pieces of gear that superheroes use. Utility belts, bat-arangs, batbombs, that awesome set of fighting sticks that kid was using in Kick-Ass, etc. On the whole, we don't do all that much supers work here, so that category has lain fallow for some time.

Aren't most of those sorts of items covered by the other categories, Batman's body armor would be item/armor or batarangs would be Item/Ranged Weapon.

I though Meta referred to influencing things at an above the game level, as in meta gaming (the habit of using outside information to influence the outcome of the game on the table) rather than supers.

I agree, the category is pretty well useless, as shown by the fact that it has no entries after years of submissions (including a crapton by Moonhunter, who is by far the most notorious supers GM we have). But he wanted an explanation of what it was, and that's what it is, according to the category explanation page.
