Dungeons and Dragons Threatens Prison Security, Court Rules

Basically, the ruling states that gaming encourages gang-like organization because the "Dungeon Master" tells the players what to do. I guess I was playing it wrong all those years when I let the players make their own choices.

This brings back memories of the nineties here in Norway, when the police linked dungeons and dragons to satanism and ritual murder.

For any roleplayer such events prove how deluded and mistaken peoples' opinion of roleplaying can be. I'd go so far as to claim there is
a stigma tied to roleplaying. How could such a harmless and nerdy pasttime become so frowned upon and socially unconventional?

We had some major issues with a D&D vs. Palladium gang war. It was insane. You could be walking down the road minding your own business and a D&D player would toss the dice and say they beat my THAC0. Me, being a Palladium gangsta, defied the hit and always took my parry roll. Occassionally I would still get hit but when I parried they were pissed! It was crazy, that would happen all over the place. Not even Grandmothers were safe from the die rolls!
