Im not sure if I managed to resize it to fit the main page, the requirements are:

height:109px;
   width:300px;

And: below 100kb.

If I did not succeed however, perhaps one of our Master of the Art of Resizing Images Strolenites can help me out? :wink:

One question: the quest description says that the monster "must be unique".  Does that mean "one of a kind", or does that simply mean that the idea has to be original?

We rarely hold people to our own words, as we tend to flourish with them and put them in strange orders at times. I do not believe this quest calls for "one-of-a-kind" monsters or even completely original ones, although both would qualify. It's up to you to interpret the quest as you see fit, and other will judge your quest submissions based on their interpretations. That's just how it usually goes, we try not to specify on the quests too much or it stunts creativity. Good luck, everyone!

I agree with Pieh, when I conjured the quest description I thought about the "One of a kind" option as it would fit the monster theme somewhat. But there has already been a quest called "One of a kind" so it would be lame to revamp the same quest with more restrictions. But I do have some thoughts about monsters though; if they are very common, they are not monsters anymore. That gives us the opportunity of having a swarm, group or gathering of some kind. But that is just my opinion, Pieh has a very valid point. Do not feel restrained, write down what you think is an awesome and terrifying monster. :up:

Well that's a relief!  I have some little beasties that would fit this quest nicely, but wasn't sure if I could use them.  Another thought occurs to me though; I don't think that a beast needs be rare to qualify as a monster.  Sometimes common creatures can exhibit monstrous behaviour (think back on "The Birds" by Daphne Du Maurier for inspiration).  Carrion, rodents, cats -- all can become a type of "group" monster if allowed to swarm.  Just my 2c.

I agree, common things can easily become monsters. Doctor Hannibal Lecter is a monster, but I do not, however, classify humans as monsters. But taking something familiar, and molding it into something monstrous, is a very effective way of adding psychological layers.
