Why NOT?

Why not lay it to rest?  The games of WoD have not been selling well recently. Demon, Hunters, and The Asian series did poorly and lets not mention Wraith.  They have made oodles of money off the franchise.  It is better to end it, than let it linger on and take their company down.

Of course, the quesiton is, what will they do next?

Actually, I find that it's quite intelligent of them to end WoD. From the very beginning, the various WoD mythologies have predicted an Apocalypse of sorts. Why dissapoint fans by never ending the thing like they said they would? You just know that not only are fans going to mob over the Time of Judgement books, the final copies of the WoD will sky-rocket, netting them wild profits.

We're playing a ww game right now and I kinda like it, our story teller leaves something to be desired, but hey what can I say.

Personally I love WW, but I haven't got enough material to see the continuity problems. One thing you might want to think about is that no matter how highly paid the editor or skilled the writer, you are going to have continuity glitches. It is part of the reason you need a GM/ST. My limited experience in the world may also contribute to my love of their style. It may get old (ALA Palladium) in a year or two.

*BUMP*

I just started playing a White Wolf, World of Darkness, Werewolves the Forsaken, and I like it, but I have only done a few sessions.  Any thoughts about the new stuff?

Not a fan of Vampire: The Requiem in the slightest. Looks like they took the basic idea of everybody dress in black and piss and moan about the angst of being dead. Great for the dress in black and piss and moan about being a misunderstood LARPer/emo/goth, but I think it sucks for the gamers who don't get off on wearing fake fangs and acting like a freak, but then being petulant because no one accepts them for what they pretend that they are.

It all used to be novel and fresh. Now it is a cliche.  The new content/ setting is the old stuff with some of the "broken aspects" fixed.  Other than the interesting things in Prometheus, most of it is just tired rehashes.

The rules don't work much better now than they used to. In fact, it is now harder to do basic things. The game system is going to drag the new game down I am afraid.
