Greetings, friends. I just wanted to take a moment and introduce myself. I've been away from tabletop RPGs for a while, but I'm very much looking forward to spending some time playing again. Looking for some folks in my area to game with or some online to run a weekly (or bi-weekly, or whatever) voice game via Skype. I've forgotten most of the rules of gaming and don't have nearby friends with books to refresh me. So, it's an uphill climb, for now, but one I'm excited to undertake.

I found the site a little while ago and have absolutely loved reading some of the plots posted here. Tons of great work. I'm looking forward to meeting you and maybe getting into a forum game where I can work on relearning some mechanics.

Welcome, Aegan! I hope you like it here and find much of use - and perhaps leave something behind.

Just out of interest, are you using any plugins for your Skype gaming (for sharing documents and other conferencing/roleplaying needs)? I think experience with these things could be useful for others as well.

The only thing that I've done with Skype is voice/video. With video conferencing, you can sort of act things out, and it's nice to be able to see people's reactions. Apple's iChat (if you have a Mac) is much better, though. For sound only, we've used Ventrilo as well. You can have multiple connections to Vent, and run one for voice and use the other connection for stereo mix, so you can play sound effects.

Otherwise, I've no neat tricks to share. Documents for me go on Mediafire, but that's pretty unsexy.
