Well, I will basically have to re-read the thread to get again an idea of who's who, and what's to do.

I'm going to follow EM's lead on this one.  Honestly, I have a hard time adding to these - I'm more reactive, but I'll see how EM plays it. I know he's good at that :P

Well, it would be a lot easier if I was playing that "Alien" type alien, and not Curie who's all rainbows and happy puppies. Thus, more thought required, estimated posting time Thursday evening, CET.

I remember your reasoning that Curie was innocent in the ways of the world.

She must be getting a number of her ideals crushed from the moment she stepped into Helena's apartment right up until now as she listens in to the plans of this fell carnival.

In my experience, such things change people and if you want it you could make these experiences change Curie as well, based on whatever logic she follows.

Meaning: It is perfectly okay to subtly alter your pcs persona as you go along.

It is. But not everyone gets that. :)

Curie needs to make the following dice rolls:
1d100 against 65% (base chance) + 40 (Sachmeth) - 30 (firewall) = 75% chance to connect to a wireless router on the least protected account.
1d100 against 65% chance to hack admin account and gain file access. <---- Only if she makes roll #1

The two above dice rolls are to find the schematics.

Additionally if (and only if) she gains system access, she will see that the only method she could connect wirelessly to the drop ships is via radio and video feed.

She can sneak on site with the masses that will be merrily storming there, actually, and eventually access a service crawlspace or something, too. While docked, the ships will also likely have wired data uplinks for monitoring etc, more reliable than wifi.

Also, your rolls:

[blockquote]Rolled 1d100 : 80, total 80[/blockquote]
[blockquote]Rolled 1d100 : 57, total 57[/blockquote]

The description of Curies attack on the firewalls of the Truth of Steel will be... ordinary compared to her encounter with the old man. That is because of earth vs. alien technology. Earth tech is more predictable

Moving the game further along soon. Everyone is moving downstairs, towards the dropships. Only the security detail remains... And you, should you opt to do so.

The dropships can be found in a corridor four levels down, circular hatches with valve openers located in the floor at regular intervals. The level below you has crew and passenger quarters, the floor below that houses the engine room, CIC (Combat Information Center), and so on. The lowermost floor is really just a narrow corridor that runs the entire length of the ship. The only thing there are the dropships (12 of them).

Security aboard the ship is tight.

Downstairs you can hear crew members handing out "Atlantean Harvester Rods" to the carnival crowd.

Based on current events, Riv is going to need to change plans - with Steel's getup, there is no way in hell DD'd plan is going to work.  What does he have that will let him ambush someone in power armor? :)

Echo's sabotage idea would have. He was unable to sabotage the drop ship shuttles wirelessly though (had a fair chance of doing so too).
You could try to reach the schematics computer physically, but security is tight and combat seems likely. Your characters are fairly bright and the odds of surviving a front on assault are slight with your current equipment. Stealth is your best bet there, but then again some of you are not all that stealthy.

An alternative plan seems wise.

Powered armor is difficult, yes. Assassinating him now seems unlikely, yes. Very well deducted.

But, you guys being intelligent and all, know that he probably does not sleep and piss and s**t and eat wearing his armor. He IS paranoid though, Wesknife's psyche profiles tell you guys as much.

I never said it was gonna be easy, though had Curie made those checks it actually would have been far easier than anticated.

(Yes, some hidden kudos there).

Calculating, I had a ... 0.75 x 0.6 = 0.45 chance to succeed.
Well then. Plan: sneak in and sabotage the dropship physically. A wrench in the gears, so to speak. Curie is appalled at the misuse of resources and technology, indeed.

She should be! ;)

The dropships are docked beneath the Truth of Steel, with only a circular valve opened hatch leading down to them.

Also, everyone are boarding the dropships right now. If she wants to sabotage them, she needs to do it from the ground (after they land).

If you go with them, and stay behind, you can sabotage the dropships while the revelers are butchering the wastelanders.

I just need to get close, and an inch of exposed skin, and he's toast. He'll barely have time to notice he's being assassinated. Substitution is something else though.

If I understand the plan properly, the idea is that we go down and slaughter some defenceless innocents, and then the survivors go back to the ship for more partying. I'm guessing that the weapons that we'll be using on said innocents are kindly provided by steel?

The way I see it, our best bet is to take him either in flight or on the ground, and then steal his dropship ID codes (Curie!) to allow us to pretend that the downed shuttle is someone else's. Or, we remove him on the ground in the chaos, and then either steal his dropship to get back up, or swap the codes with ours. Either way, everybody thinks that a few insignificant guests have died, and that Steel is safe.

AG, Steel has a security detail with him at all times. Their attention is on Steel and the other guests, not so much on each other. How easy would it be to take one of his guards out and steal his uniform? Right. Now. Before the dropships are fully loaded?

The Truth of steel also makes for a great target, with all the attention on the ground, it would be easier to sabotage it. (We could even envisage getting it to shoot Steel out of the sky on the way back up.)

Also: What can I tell about Steel's power armor? Is it state of the art like I expect?

The "Atlantean Harvester Rods" that are being issued, arm long scepters of steel, provide six rounds of .38 caliber fire (1d10 damage) and a powerful taser functionality (POTency 20 vs CON per hit)

AG, Steel has a security detail with him at all times. Their attention is on Steel and the other guests, not so much on each other. How easy would it be to take one of his guards out and steal his uniform? Right. Now. Before the dropships are fully loaded?

Well, the tricky part would be not being revealed as you took him out. Right now people are crowding together, moving down the stairs, through  a narrow corridor and then climbing the rungs through the hatches on the floor and into the dropships where they are buckling in.

You'd have to surround a guard, then hide him as you took him out. And where would you put the body?

With the guardian of Steel blocking Curie you need to physically turn off the light or something. Then coordinate your efforts in the dark.

My 2 cents?

Very low chance of success.

The Truth of steel also makes for a great target, with all the attention on the ground, it would be easier to sabotage it. (We could even envisage getting it to shoot Steel out of the sky on the way back up.)

Also: What can I tell about Steel's power armor? Is it state of the art like I expect?

Steel's Power armor shows some dents and scratches, but seems otherwise in perfect working order. The Reptilian mask is a true marvel of engineering though. You have never seen anything like it.

The Power Armor could probably withstand a several 50 round magazines of SMG fire aimed at one location. It provides a tremendous strength boost, making Steel a lethal adversary even when not armed with anything but his fists.

You misunderstand my intentions. Is the armour equipped with a networked computer to regulate the suit's thermal equilibrium, hydraulics, adaptive armour, etc... Often, the solution lies within the problem. While a power armour stops us getting to him physically, it also entraps him within it. If subverted, we have him by the balls.

Like I said in the post: Yes, it is networked, but no, it is the helmet that provides the networking. He does not use the helmet, instead he wears a strange snake mask.

The mask is an unknown. It might be armored, and it might not. Whatever it is, it is well made.
