When Strolen returns there will be a main-site announcement, heaping kudos upon the worthy winners of Quest:Steampunk!

In the meantime, let us throw out some ideas for the next Quest. Need something kewl to hopefully get as many submissins as we did for Steampunk. That was a great turn-out!

So, without further ado, here is a suggestion provided by Silveressa. Using one blurb from one of the many 30 subs, to flesh out any one entry into a full-blown submission! Sounds fun, and we have many, many, 30's to choose from.

Any other ideas?

Lets get a few more suggestions, and then throw up the Ol' Poll for voting.

Here is another idea. Comic Book Quest! Superheroes, supervillains, secret locations, comic-book style plots, and well, you get it.

I've always been a fan of the 'monster' cultures, and I would love to see some of them fleshed out some more. I think they are too often used as nameless underlings and brutes, and that doesn't give them credit.
So here's hoping for something that spawns Gnoll Khans, Minotaur pirates and underworld empires of sentient fungus!

another option is taking a silly sub and making it serious while still retaining the basic elements of the original sub.

Both sound good, but the expand-a-30 sounds the best so far.

Excluding use of one's own 30's though.

What about creating new unique monsters?

*New as in something that is not a manticore, Hydra etc. Be creative!

*Unique as in- there is only one! Not a family, a village or a bloody continent of your "Zgroozg's", only one!

Their backgrounds and explanations could be as diverse as the citadelians. Everything goes, it could be etheral, mystical, Fauna, Flora etc. But it must have some degree of intelligence and self awareness.It could be things living in roots, underneath rocks, inside lamps, shadows, light or snake with parrot head:) Everything goes but things like the Minotaur living in the maze is out;)

Catch my drift? Anyone against, for?

I see no reason why we can't return to it once we've exhausted numerous other ideas. It's not like we're all leaving anytime soon.

Why not do a quest that features both monster cultures and new and unique monsters?
Perhaps a culture of new monsters, or a culture of classic monsters being terrorized by a new monster?

Well, you _Can_ do both, since if the quest is monster cultures, you can have the culture be of nre and unique monsters, or if the quest is new monsters, you can detail it's culture...

Requiring both would probably limit participation more then only requiring one detail.

THe simpler and more broad the quest, the greater appeal it generally has. The War quest, and the most recent Steampunk quest drew quite a large amount of interest. On the other hand, the Five-in-One challenge brought in a whopping 5 submissions. Less is more, as the expression goes.
