Size: Roughly Earth-standard
Climate: Varies depending on location, planet is tidally locked with sun.  Sunward is hot enough to melt iron, Nightward is cold enough to freeze boiling water before it hit the ground.  Habitable band in the middle.

Current Civilizations:
Humans, controlling the middle.  Agricultural civilizations with central authories
Goblinoids, nightward.  Raiders and pastorialists, worshipping some sort of ice demon.
Fire Elementals, Sunward.  Isolationists, no society.

Primary Dangers:
Read above...
Cabal tried to imagine dread Cthulhu rising from the corpse city of R’lyeh, seeing humans, and squealing like a Hausfrau who discovers mice in the pantry, before pounding them to death with a broom. - Jonathan L. Howard.
Johannes Cabal: The Fear Institute.
