Okay. I saw Speed Racer last night. Yes, I saw it with my car crazed 5 year old.
We both loved it and I think the rest of you would like it.
The plot is above average for an adventure flick. The Wachowski Brothers', yes those Matrix guys, cinematography is wonderful. The special effects are a little over the top. Car Fu is something you must see if you like vehicles and are a gamer.
If you are a car crazed little kid, you will love it.
If you ever saw the series when you were young, you will love it. It is one of the few remakes of a childhood favorite that is actually "good".
If not, you will still be entertained by it. It uses the same crazy bright blocks of colors and cool designs that were prevolent in the original series. (This can make it "too technicolor" for the uninitiated). The movie is self contained, so if you have only seen an episode or two, or none at all, you will still get the movie. The movie is true to the material. In fact, if the cartoon was being done today, it would look just like the movie.
Now I am thinking about an Unlimited Racing Class Game.
