Thanks for the welcome, all

Most of the stuff I have been doing as GM uses the HeroQuest combat model, rather than the board setup. I like the simplicity of just rolling d6's for attack & defense.
I also enjoy collecting/painting miniatures, which I use in my scenarios. A purchase of a new miniature(s) will result in a new adventure to use it.
The last adventure I did was based on "Abandoned Mines" by Taronga from this website (thanks!!). I have been trying to move to less hack'n'slash and more storyline involvement. This scenario was great, although I simplified it some, I was trying to get my players to think more about alliance with new creatures, rather than just skewering them.
All of my players are first timers, and it's my first time as GM. One player (the youngest at 18) has an older relative who went a little batty over D&D about 20 years ago and needed a family intervention, so we are very informal, no heavy in character stuff, lots of laughs.
A typical "game" night is 2-3 hours, and I set up a "module" type adventure to be completed in this time frame. We probably play only 6 times a year, due to time constraints. I am trying to develop some long term things to weave into these modules; which forum would be a good place to post the kernel ideas for some input to help me expand on the rough ideas??
