Hello citizens of Strolen
« on: September 16, 2007, 07:57:40 AM »
Hello there everybody.
I have been a long time lurker on the site and I have just recently decided to join. I am still a bit nervous about entering submissions here that are up to standard. It's not that I am no good at creating material or role playing, I've been a GM for about 4-5 years, just that I am horrible at putting most of it into words.
I look forward to spending a great deal of time here in the future.

First post jitters  :)  I am getting them for my quest submissions since I haven't actually written anything in so long.

Forget your inhibitions and jump in. Go back into the 'old' submissions and see where some of us were for our first posts. For some reason some of my first post keep getting commented on and are drug up from the past. Yikes!

I am glad you joined and will look forward to your first postings!

Welcome, Isk!  Don't worry, we don't bite!  (...Except on special occasions and holidays.)

If your concerned about how a sub is coming out, you can put it into the "Advice Requested" section, then send PMs to the people whose advice you want.  (Otherwse, it may sit there and collect dust:  We're not always good at commenting on those subs.)  If you didn't want advice from anyone in particular, put a comment in the "Shout Box" requesting input.

We like to dig up Strolen's and Captain Penguin's early subs just to watch them squirm, but actually, even subs that aren't classic literature can inspire great games.

Great games or better subs...  Welcome Isk, hope you stay.

Indeed, welcome Isk! It's always nice to see new blood coming in, though the old blood does still put out some nice stuff. As for being worried about submission quality, don't worry about it, everyone's subs were horrible at some point (though a few were quite a bit less horrible than others...). Heck, most of mine are STILL horrible, so you'll have someone else to keep you company.

Again, welcome! As Pariah said, we hope you'll stay.

Welcome Isk! I remember the dread of posting submissions here!

As a matter of fact I think the "Flesh it out" forum is superior when one just wants to create and nevermind the critics and other vultures out there!

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I hope to have several subs in by the end of the week. I think that my main problem when it comes to these submissions is that I am an avid D&D player and as such whenever I create something I am mainly used to describing it by its stats first. Here however I have to focus more on the who, where, why, how, rather than the what.
