Tech type questions
« on: April 26, 2007, 10:35:56 PM »
Does any of the tech minded denizens know how to convert an mp3 to a ringtone for a Motorola Razr cell phone?  I dislike the idea of paying money for a ringtone when I have the music I want to begin with.

For mine (Sanyo M1) I use audacity to modify the mp3 then use http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/ to upload it to my phone.

I am sure there are plenty of forums that will walk you through it. Going to work else I would search. I would search audacity and razr and see what happens as that is a popular program to modify mp3s.

I don't think I ever thanked you for your assistance, Strolen.  This works very well.

Sweet!

Now you just have to find the Happy Tree Friends Theme like I did and set it as your ring tone. ;)

Okay, a web question.

On IMVU, when you buy something, you get a final page that says, "it is yours". It gives you a "link" to click. If you click it, it changes the something on your avatar.

When you mouse over the link, it says something like imvu:put$on:item-xxxx by YYYY

I can find the XXXX and the YYYY for every item. So I can type things in the correct format in my browser address line, hit return, and cause the change to happen in my IMVU.

So how would I put said "link" on a page?  Is it just like a link?  ahref=  or what?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Moon: I believe that it's a javascript thing, sending a message to the server. You might grep through the page source for that particular function, see if anything comes up. Otherwise, I don't believe you can cheat the system. They're probably doing it server-side to make sure you buy the items in question before letting you have them to put on.

Yeah, there's far too many kiddies out there that'd try to cheat the system and that sound WAY too simple, but feel free to try...

Inventory is kept on the central sever and you can't bring up items that are not on your inventory listing.

They seem to be using IE as the "viewing window" for the program. Would have to be a java script then to send a line to the IE browser?
