I got the bright idea to finally allow at least a little customization of the index page. It was at the back of my mind but it came to the top with a simple comment by valadaar asking for more recent submissions to be shown on the index.
So, now it is up to you how many of each are shown. You can now control how many of each type are given in the left column and if you are like some and don't like that column you can get rid of it entirely.
In the center section you can again decide how many you want viewable and you can also control the summary size. If you want the full summary, use 999 or you can truncate it down to 0 (which will actually show one word right now but I will make it so it is just a list).
The Order doesn't work yet, I have been hitting this nightly this week to get it this far and will probably get to the sort order tomorrow.
The "Column" checkbox will soon give the option to have that block of submission go all the way across like the StrolenCon and HoH announcements if that is your preference. (still not entirely sure about the usability of this feature so if you think it is worth it, let me know, else I might end up dropping that option.) This doesn't work yet either.
At least you have a few options you can play with to make the index conform more to the way you want to use the site. Oh, you can hide the site description that is always on the top too. If you are a member and can find the option to turn it off, I think you know what the site is about already.
Suggestions/bugs/comments are all welcomed and encouraged!
