Brittany Murphy

Ms. Murphy plays the role of a small town diner waitress who spends all of her time with her eyes on Hollywood. She pines for success on the big screen, and to attend red carpet events, and have a fabulous California husband.  While she is focused on what appears to be an almost unattainable dream, real life is passing her by. Her friends and family are slowly being alienated by this obsession of hers.

Returning home from work one evening, she sees someone in the road, swerves to avoid, hits a tree and passes out. She awakens into a This is your sorry life arc of seeing her own funeral and the way people act and talk about her when she isnt there. She see's her old highschool crush crying, etc etc.

When she awakens, she discovers that there was more to her small town than she expected. Feel good ending with her embracing her old flame, dumping her current BF Mr. Jerk and a heart touching reunion with her semi-estranged family.

For even more Awww power, the whole thing is set at... drumroll   Christmas.

Made for the Hallmark Channel, for when Lifetime is just too hardcore to watch.

Monica Belluci plays a secret agent in a World War Two era movie. Following Musolini's seizure of power in Italy, her family flees to England after her father is arrested and executed at the urging of Musolini's German allies. Since she has the benefit of belonging to a relatively wealthy family, she enrols in Oxford and gets fantastic grades. Upon graduation, she is approached by British intelligence looking for fresh talent. Burning with a desire to avenge the humiliation that her family suffered at the hands of the facists, she immediately agrees to their proposal. Soon, driven by her desire to make the Axis powers pay, she becomes a high flying star in M 16. Smitten by her beauty, many of her co-workers try to woo her. However, she only has thoughts of honour and revenge and thus coldly dismisses their overtures.

With time, she becomes a field agent and is evantually sent to occupied Poland to seduce high ranking Nazi officers and assasinate them. However, the unthinkable happens and she ends up falling deeply in love with one of her targets. Finally, when she realises that she has no option but to kill him, she shoots him in the back and then heart-broken, blows her own brains out.

Katherine Heigl as  Thera, the Elven Ranger.

Thera is the last surviving ranger from her unit.  The Darkon came, and though his dark portals came a rush of Uggai.  The Ranger force came together as Deep Pine Pass to stop this surging horde before it could reach the Golden Elven City of Chendonaki. The Rangers broke the advance, but at a cost of the entire Ranger force.   The Elves move their fabled city farther to the Sunset Lands and the Darkon recovered his strength.  The Humans in the area were caught in the charging forces, there towns, villages, and crops destroyed by the conflct.  One of the survivors, Terrance by name (played by Christopher Egan), was scavaging in Deep Pines.  There he found Thera and helped her recover.  The two were soon joined by the Fell Mage ("I am gonna be a litch someday, but I have too much honor", played by Duane Ram) in a quest to stop The Darkon from destroying the world.  It would seem like they would have no chance, but it seems that Terrance might just be a wizard, the first found in centuries.  If they can get him to some points of attunment....

(It sounds like a bad fantasy TV series).  Our next contestant is: Renée O'Connor

Renée O'Connor is Agent Callisto Trent, Paranormal Investigative Specialist.

Born Callisto of Thebes in the 1st century BC, this young priestess of Athena became a vampire in the prime of her life.  Devastated and confused, she spent decades in the Greek countryside, surviving off of stray sheep while camping beneath trees and in caverns.  Aware but afraid of her new-found strength, it finally was unleashed when she came across a band of brigands assaulting a young traveler.  Callisto killed the bandits, and committed her curse to her goddess, vowing to defend all innocence by understanding the nature of her being and using it for good.  She began to wander the world, seeking wisdom the nature of vampirism.  In her travels, she gained immense knowledge of magic and the supernatural, becoming a mage in her own right.  She began to work for the sultans of the Arab world in the Middle Ages, becoming their advisor on djinni and other supernatural creatures.  She moved from ruler to ruler through the centuries, eventually settling in the 18th century in British Canada.  She became known among other supernaturalists in North America, and when the CIA formed in 1947, she was recruited by American agent for their Paranormal Division.  Callisto's vast knowledge of the paranormal and supernatural make her an excellent investigator, supplemented by her enhanced agility and reflexes granted by vampirism.  She is a valuable asset to the Agency's many forays into the paranormal world.

The Kiev Letters

It is the height of the cold war, and the Kremlin is concerned. The Soviet navy is certainly powerful, with exceptional nuclear submarines, but the Americans are revealing new weapons, new giant Carriers and new missle systems. While some politicos and commisars beat the Soviet drum, East German officer Oberon Türme (Rhys-Davis) is more worried. Türme has contacts on the other side of the Berlin wall, and he has heard some disturbing things from the German intelligista. He writes his friend and comrade Andre in Kiev.

His concern for the safety of the Soviet Union is turned quickly into a witch hunt and Türme is forced to flee East Germany. The Soviets think him a mole, the Capitalists waiting to catch him in a snare to interrogate him for the secrets he knows. Rather than a concise movie, each scene is more like a vignette, from a letter he has written. As he flees, sending a trail of letters back to Kiev, he discovers how deep the fear and paranoia is, with friends turning on friends and anyone offering an open hand has a knife or a pistol in the other.

After a suitable thriller ride of unlikely-man caught in action sequences, the sort where it is obvious he is barely surviving by the skin of his teeth and the letter writing is emotional release. The film draws to a cliff-hanger close, surrounded by enemies, no friends left on earth, Türme lets himself fall from the top of a building in Kiev, on his friend's doorstep. The last letter, his last thoughts knowing the betrayal that was waiting for him, lays crumpled in his hands. The narration ends with the last words: I go to Kiev, I know there I will perish. My friend, I imagine you have already gone into the beyond. Likely because of my letters. For this, I am greatly sorry. I will see you there, comrade.

(Only because his Sci-fi movies are B-grade campy and utter rubbish. I would like to see him in a nitty gritty cold war espianoge thriller, but on the Soviet side of the Iron Curtain.)

Hugh 'House' Laurie is Captain Casey.

Few people in Star Fleet can say they have been a captain of a Capital Ship. Few people in Star Fleet can say they have saved the Federation. Few people have told off the president. Even fewer people have been promoted to Admiral and been demoted back to commander.  (In fact, the number is two).

Captain Casey is one of the cerebral captains.  He does not go out on away missions. He positions people and his ship with a chess master's exactness.

His intuitive understanding of spacial flow and the ability to hold a 3D model of local space in his head, makes his star ship tactical skills currently unparralleled.

He respects intelligence. Not neccisarily logic, but understanding. He harness his passion and his intellect.  He can resolve most problems in his head, sending people out people just to confirm what he already knew.  He has a passion for The Truth. He has also been quoted to say, "The Truth only hurts when it ought to".   In fact, there is nothing he hates more than an unknown or a mystery.  It is one of the reasons he is an explorer, both of stars and the sentient condition.

His social skills seem somewhat lacking. Sardonic and probling, he can be off putting. Even Tellerites find his personality, abrassive and abrupt (and he has had two Tellerite first officers who will tell you that in length).  However, the astute observer realizes he has superior social skills that transcend a single culture, he just does not care about the feelings of other. He uses probing questions to put people off so he can better judge their character and motivations. He manipulates people so he can put them in an optimum position, even though they don't like it.  His mastery of bodylanguage and zenobodylanguage is unparrallelled. He almost does not need a universal translator.  Almost.

Tom Welling is guest staring in a Wheel of Time game.

He is a white cloak, those who espouse purity, honor, and religion.  However, like everything in WoT, they take things to an extreme.  They are fantatical.  They will actually be the undoing of things, as no one can reach their perfections - except themselves... in their own mind.

Welshen is a third son of a Borderlands noble. With fewer prospect than most of his peers, he was squired to an older knight. In the upheaval of the war, his knight was lost to random city violence.  He just fell in with the White Cloaks who were all apprentices about the same age as himself.   At first it seemed .... fun.  They were proud, noble, and doing the right thing.

As time wore on, Welshen realized two things.  That the White Cloaks were a bit extreme for him and he wasn't quite up to stuff. His moral compass was not as perfect as the others.  He had moments of weakeness, helping out that poor kid who stole something, where the rest of them would of cut off his hands.  He found he didn't "have the stones" to do what needed to be done some of the time.

He was weak, doing what he thought was right, instead of following the absolute code of The White Cloaks.

After helping the players (in fact, he is introduce several chapters or episodes ahead of time), but in a moment of weakness will help them do what seems right, he will be executed by his White Cloak Peers.

The Long Sleep

Sarah Oppenheimer (Hudgens) is a psychologist/data analyst on a sub-light sleeper ship. The ship, the UES Erikkson, is bound for a habitable world light years from an overcrowded and stagnant earth. The ship has been coasting for the last century, having long since sling-shot itself out of the sol system. A skeleton crew mans the helm, engineering, and the hydroponics bays so that there are supplies for everyone. The crews rotate in and out of cold sleep hibernation.

The Erikkson eventually begins braking procedures and enters orbit around the propossed colony, only to find cities on the surface, satellites and space habitats in orbit, and angry fighters buzzing around their now nearly spent colony ship. Chaos ensues as the colonists are thawed and then handcuffed and taken into police custody. None of the human inhabitants of the planet will answer their questions and protests are met with violence and beatings. Oppenheimer is eventually processed and the story of what happened starts to unravel.

Not long after the Erikkson departed Earth, FTL travel was invented. This started a social revolution as well as a planet wide civil war, decimating the population. With the new FTL, many factions fled to new worlds, with the old world regime hot on their tails. The last century has been on again off again war between the colonial worlds and the United Earth Alliance. The Erikkson flies UEA flags and has an archaic but distinctly UEA identification, and the uniforms of the crew are also UEA. They have been captured and are being treated as spies and war criminals for violating the sovereign space of the colony.

Oppenheimer and several crew members are rescued by UEA sympathizers and is smuggled offworld. Her last sight of what was supposed to be a new start, a new home for humanity, is the Erikkson being torn apart for scrap metal, a radio blurb proudly pronounces the execution of Alliance Militants and Spies. Oppenheimer cries as her rescue ship jumps to light speed.

Nothing ever changes.

Alexander Skarsgaard in a modern sci-fi mystery.

Milo Monsarrat - A shapeshifter and an accomplished grifter with a taste for art theft. Multi-lingual and particularly adept at the use of accents, Milo portays many characters in various cons, usually making direct contact with a mark to draw them into the con.

Milo has a collection of aliases, which includes "Milo Monsarrat", "Abigail Thoen" and "Garfield McGlynn". His true identity is unknown.

Comically, his attempts to make a career as an actor lead to nothing but failure, as he proves woefully untalented and over-the-top onstage. It is only during a con when he can disappear effortlessly into a character, where ironically he can actually act well if he is pretending to be an actor.

"It is easier, literally, to walk a mile in someone else's shoes then trying to pretend that I am listening to anything you've said so far." -Garfield McGlynn

Willem Dafoe in a noir criminal tale...

Gerhard Sorensen was a rising star in the police force: made detective, went to law school, became state attorney for the prosecution, had several big cases where crooks and villains were sent behind bars en masse. Stepping on the wrong toes in high-up places in the process, he became a persona non grata, framed of heinous crimes - and fled, to be never caught.

Frederic Falkes, an aspiring detective on his first case, finds he has an ally in the shadows, saving his behind several times, leading him to vital evidence - then Gerhard reveals his identity, and they embark on a crusade against those who once toppled him. Yet, Frederic begins to suspect that the old detective is using him for private vendettas as well, and has to ask himself how much bending of the law is too much in their pursuit.

Gerhard is portrayed as twisted yet unbroken, charming at times when his old self shines through, poisonous when irked, irreverent and caring little about private property, others' relationships or feelings. At times, he's an ally who may cost more than he is worth.

David Tennent is Lord Daidbon

The Lord Daidbon, once known as the young Lord Daidbon (he has aged into his position now), is of a grand noble household, holding a position in the West Kingdom. He is a great man, who will be remembered fondly by scholars and students of history and bards alike. In his life he has been a leader, a warrior, a scholar, and a poet.  He is the King's First.  Few men can claim so much done so well.

As a new lord - barely a man - he was thrust into a key position of a terrible civil war and a threat from over the sea via longboats.  He has helped guide the new Kings through the the great wars and great treacheries. He is the King's First - his first advisor and his first defender.  Yet his services have been beyond the politic. He has produced sonnets, plays, and stories.  He has translated several great tomes.  He has dealt with magics beyond the mortal ken, danced with fairy queens and dueled stagged knights. He has done things that only the great heroes of bards tales have done.  Yet. He has been a normal man - with love of a wife, children, respect of his peers, and the work of the days.  He has lost almost as much as he gained, because he refused to lose the moral high ground.  He has lost his loves, his children (from his first wife), his position (though that has been replaced), his family lands (blighted by the Ebon One), and his home.    No man has achieved so much and lost so much.

In terms of personality, the Lord is many things: a bundle of energy, a contradiction at court - bound by the traditional, yet pushing for reform, while set in his course - he knows a poet's range of feeling, while prone to wimsy, known for deep wisdom. In short, while most men tend towards the middle, Lord Daidbon is a man of extreme. He reaches the highest highs of nobility and honor - holding the highest moral path despite great personal pain.  Yet at times, he dwells in the dark despair over the loss of family or friends or the presence of war and famine - evils he can not fix.

While the King of The Lands has become a great figure on the stage of world, the Lord Daidbon is the protagonist of the piece.

Ryan Reynolds is XJ75-3T, known only to humanity by his alias: Dex Hauter.

XJ75-3T is a cyborg created by the slimy green Xoeniphs, trans-dimensional aliens awaiting the chance to invade an unsuspecting Earth. He was created with the best AI and understanding of human charm and good looks that the Xoeniphs could glean from Earth transmissions. He mission is to use those attributes to work his way into high and trusted positions among the human population. He is slowly working his way up as an up-and-coming politician but is ever in danger of having his false past found out. If he manages to reach the presidency, or near enough to that office, the Xoeniphs want him to take control of the US nuclear missile system and use it to take over the world.

John 'Baptist' McAllister is a very rare sort of man, born as he was, without a soul.

In the gleaming lights and stark shadows of the modern world, not having a soul can almost be a blessing. John is a man of many talents and skills. He never believed in the teachings of the church so he dug into them, into the old books and the old documents, picking up two additional languages along the way, few men are fluent in ancient Greek and Latin, but John is. He took up law enforcement, as this seemed like a good job that would pay the bills while he spent his spare time trying to come to grips with what was wrong with him. Years of therapy and councilling, befuddled psychologists and emotional therapists couldn't tell him why he didn't believe, why he never laughed, why nothing was ever funny, why nothing provided him with any sort of joy that everyone else seemed to have.

McAllister has preached, knowing the source material like the back of his hand. He worked in a soup kitchen, but never felt the first stirring of compassion or empathy for the poor people the shelter helped. It seemed that there was not going to be any sort of answer to his questions until he encountered his first truly evil person. He killed her behind his house, and for the first time laughed! For three days he was a normal person, and then it wore off.

The soulless man can borrow the soul of someone he kills, the more innocent the soul, the longer it lasts before fleeing. But so few people care about when an evil person vanishes.

Sarah's codename is Masque.  She is a tele-empathic New Mutant of the next iteration of Mutant X.  Several years ago a company called Genomex carried out a series of illegal and immoral experiments on human subjects, forever altering the DNA of any children they might have, to make them mutations from the norm. Now many of those children have grown up, and it has become increasingly difficult for the rest of the world to ignore the New Mutants in their midst. Genomex, under the direction of Mason Eckhart, one of the original scientists, seeks to exploit its creations. Others seek to protect them. A New Mutant Underground has sprung up, and one of the most prominent cells in that organization is Mutant X, a team of powerful New Mutants led by Adam Kane, head chief biogeneticist of The Genomex scientists who participated in the experiments which have altered the world forever. The original Mutant X team was caught by a wild mutant who time manipulation powers were augment by a rogue Genomex development team.  Together the team managed to reach and stop poor Thomas the wild mutant and save the world.  Of course, the Lab, the Team, and Thomas are all gone... in a massive spherical hole.  Given the nature of Thomas's powers, they may return someday.

Masque's powers are the ability to manipulate the emotions of other.  If she smiles, the people around her are happy. (which is fairly common).  If she frown, those that see her (or are near by, or she concentrates on them), they become sad. If she flirts with someone, they are immediately attracted to them.  In addition, she can sense the emotional atmosphere and seems to be affected by it (though this has yet to be seen in the campaign/series).  If she looks a target in the eyes, she can read their mind (and feeling).   Kane and the team's other Telepath are working to expand Masque's range of abilities and self control.

Tom McManus is Geoffrey Stills, a small businessman who uses his consulting firm to carry messages for a group of Chinese dissidents bent on bringing down the Communist government. He is always calm and collected, never lets anyone see him sweat, and does everything he can to help this group.

During the early years of his career, Tom met and fell in love with a Chinese woman. The two had a daughter in secret, who was tortured and killed for information she did not have, based on a misinterpreted forum post. He has vowed to bring justice for her.

Noomi Rapace is Kelli Kase, a Megacorp Executive in a dysfunctional near cyberpunk future.  A woman with many facets, she spends time down in the sprawl - where she came from.  There she encounters Hawk and Friends.  Eventually she discovers some "irregularities" with Basil Biotech her company.  She is pulled deeper and deeper into danger as she investigates, eventually to be rescued by Hawk and Friends as they are following up on people missing from The Districts.

Together Kase & Hawk discover a new horror, as alien warrior monsters were being made from the people.

Tatiana Maslany stars as Vivian Payne in...

A Cute Payne

Vivian Payne was once a down and out call girl in Toronto, and would have likely followed a spiraling path of drug addiction and bad decisions to an early grave except that a stranger intervenes in a horrible accident, saving her life, and in the process granting her supernatural abilities. Vivian Payne can sense the presence of the undead, the infernal, and all the secret hidden things that are slowly but surely working towards the end of the world.

But that is the sort of thing that action heroes are supposed to fight and she is just a hooker and teen mother. So Vivian Payne works with what she knows, she hunts down the wealthy and powerful who are fallen ones, demons, vampires, etc and uses her charm to seduce them into hiring her, where she gets close, sometimes too close, before taking down their guard, and them killing them.

Sometimes the battle for mankind, and the skirmishes before Armageddon are fought on silk sheets...

(Pretty Woman meets Max Payne meets Supernatural)

Misha Collins is  Marshall Case.

Space is hard and cold.  So can be a man's heart.  Since M-wave was discovered Humanity has learned a lot among the stars.  Infinite wonder. Infinite possibilities.  Much has been gained.  However, it hasn't lost what it should have: greed, hatred, anger.  That is where I come in.

I am the law.

I will find justice for you.

The Case:  A Future tech/Transhuman western with serious dashes of Firefly, Star Trek, and Star Gate.

Recursion

Catherine Tate plays Mnemosyne aka 'Nemmy'. Nemmy was a scientist working in a secret government high energy lab when something goes awry. She has been blasted into a cosmic consciousness without a body but with some effort she can take over and control the body of someone reduced to a vegetable. While in their body she has access to fragmentary memories and some of their abilities, but retains her own sense of self and core abilities, but eventually the borrowed bodies will reject her alien presence, forcing Nemmy to move on and find a new host.

Nemmy is being drawn along a strange trajectory, getting closer and closer to the forces at work behind the government lab, and the secret work she was doing there, and why she has to get to the bottom of the accident, and why she has to stop it from happening again. Why? Because it is an alien tech based doomsday device and she was unknowingly working for the evil corporation.

The season finale ends with a massive explosion and Nemmy seemingly sacrificing herself to destroy the weapon.

She wakes up in a new body.

Basically a more action/thriller version of Dr. Who with a bit of a Quantum Leap vibe with no rubber headed aliens.
