From the shoutbox:

Chaosmark - If you place an infinite number of monkeys in a room full of typewriters, you'll eventually produce Shakespeare. When you're short on monkeys you get forum trolls.

Kassil - We've proven the monkey theory to be false. The Internet has yet to produce new works of The Bard.

Chaosmark - It's a double coordinate limit. We're talking about as monkeys and time both move to infinity. Quite obviously we aren't close enough to infinity with our time as to make such a determination.
Cultist Rule #1 - Never summon anything bigger than your head.

I have kenned thy secret, thou perfidious volume! Now, thy secrets shall lie bare to the brethren of my guild! I need but only find my vial of powdered Dragons Liver, and I shall shatter thy wards and enchantments like glass!

An hour later, he gave up. The Dragons Liver was nowhere to be found

Ah, how I have come to love that sense of accomplishment and victory that I get when I pull the wool over the eyes of a clever player character. What DM Triumphs have you had?

Some of mine:
1. Finally killing an incredibly powerful, lucky, annoying player's character.
2. Finally achieving a TPK (Total Party Kill)
3. Finally achieving a TPK using only traps
4. Finally working out how to make it so that d**n wizard doesn't steal the spotlight all the d**n time.

Captain Penguin: Well, I'm not much for it, I think it's kind of boring and cliche. However, it is well-written and obviously thought-out, so I gave it a four out of five.

You know, with all the witty people on this site, I would of thought we would of been more quotable.

I think most of the quotes are simply hard to extract from their context. We're witty, but not always in a universally-understandable context.

Maybe we are too quotable and it's simply hard to choose the really best ones? :)

Sentinel, what have we learned about one-word unnecessary answers? :)

Sentinel*:

MoonHunter:
Seven words. At this rate he shall be verbose.

CaptainPenguin:
 *bites Sentinel*

Sentinel*:
 *yells out in pain*
Anybody! I need a shot. I go rabies from a penguin!

EchoMirage:
No, you're a were-penguin now. Sucks to be you.

Sentinel*:

Out of context that is really funny. Heck it was kind of funny in context.  It would of been more universal had we excluded the beaver reincarnation sentence, but still funny.

Wulfhere on missing quotes in his posts

The mighty hunter, Oronis Hinkelgreve, stalked silently through a dusty hall within the bowels of the Citadel, his faithful manservant Humbert close behind him.  "What did you see, sir?" asked the humble minion.

"An Apostrophe Grazer has passed by here.... Recently, by the look of the tracks."

The lad shuddered in fear as he glanced at the torn steel of a dingbat trap left in the hallway earlier.  Obviously, more powerful measures would be needed.

Zombie quotes

Every headache, every moment of confusion, every moment of arousal, could be the Zombie Strain rearing its head.

I remember listening to a Free Radio Broadcast coming out of NYC talking about the 8th Wave of Infection. Those guys were brave, stupid as a sack of hammers, but brave.

They didn't linger through the crazy flu, they were normal one night, had a headache or a migraine, or felt horny and hungry. The next morning they would be sitting on you eating your nose

Who the heck is this evil GM that kills all the clerics??!! I wanna know  :P

[Siren no Orakio] 7:06 pm: I might play a priest of the Storm Queen then. Hm.
[Ria Hawk] 7:06 pm: kk
[Ria Hawk] 7:07 pm: just as a warning, clerics don't tend to fare well
[Wulfhere] 7:07 pm: Be warned:  We go through clerics like some people go through underwear!
[Siren no Orakio] 7:07 pm: Priest does not always mean cleric. ;-p
[Wulfhere] 7:09 pm: OK. Still...
[Wulfhere] 7:09 pm: Aeth... Gutted and left in a ditch
[Ria Hawk] 7:09 pm: Glordren, swallowed up by the ground
[Wulfhere] 7:10 pm: Tristan... Lightning Bolted...
[Wulfhere] 7:10 pm: (but not quite dead)
[Ria Hawk] 7:10 pm: though he's not dead, just split off from the group
[Wulfhere] 7:10 pm: he got better...
[Siren no Orakio] 7:11 pm: Was he lightening bolted by his own god?
[Ria Hawk] 7:11 pm: no, by his own party mates
[Wulfhere] 7:11 pm: No, our mage got reckless with a wand...
[Wulfhere] 7:12 pm: You see our point...
[Siren no Orakio] 7:12 pm: Oh, that's no fun then.
[Wulfhere] 7:12 pm: It's kind of like being the Defense Against the Dark Arts guy at Hogwarts.
[Ria Hawk] 7:13 pm: with worse pay
[Wulfhere] 7:13 pm: You could break the trend!
[Wulfhere] 7:13 pm: Face off against the curse!
[Wulfhere] 7:14 pm: Somehow survive, bucking ALL the odds!
[Wulfhere] 7:14 pm: Heroism beyond compare!
[Wulfhere] 7:14 pm: ...just by traveling with us.
[Wulfhere] 7:15 pm: You could be "The Priest That Lived!"
[Wulfhere] 7:15 pm: What you've got to ask yourself is....
[Wulfhere] 7:15 pm: Do you feel lucky?
[Siren no Orakio] 7:15 pm: I wonder
[Wulfhere] 7:15 pm: Well, do ya?
[Siren no Orakio] 7:15 pm: Punk!
[Wulfhere] 7:16 pm: (We don't use that sort of language here!)
[Wulfhere] 7:16 pm: (With a sales pitch like that, he's GOT to have a priest!)
[Siren no Orakio] 7:17 pm: Hahah.
