In the Kingdom of Mus
« on: January 08, 2007, 05:57:51 PM »
The wizened elder mages, some nearly two years old, gathered in Meagrenost, the Great Hall of Caledvelch Village.  Together, they squeaked the mighty necromantic incantation, its uncanny power resonating from their greying whiskers to the ends of their tails.  Few others could have performed such a divination, for Caledvelch was famed throughout the land for its sorceries.

Slowly, the dimly-lit chamber filled with greenish radiance, as the spectres of the village's ancestors answered the prophetic call.  These ancient phantoms, driven by the magic of prophecy, began to chant in counterpoint to the mages' incantation.

For heroes, a time!  A time for steel!
When fire and sword    threaten the Mus!
None will be spared!  Death shall they know!
If only the bold    will answer the call,
The humble and mild    may save you all!

With that cryptic utterance, the chamber's lights all went out and the phantoms vanished, the magic over.

For Heroes, A Time
I was thinking of starting a game set within Scrasamax's lands of the Pax Rodentia.
For more information, see http://www.strolen.com/content.php?node=3562
Rather than shrinking humans to scale, player characters would be heroic members of the rodent species that dwell within those lands.  This would be anthropomorphic heroic fantasy in a rodent kingdom, somewhere between Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH and Redwall.

Who will save the land?  Who will protect the Kingdom of Mus?

Personally I will GM this one table top with my six year old son. Thank you Wulfhere, for making me read the sub. Thank you Scrasamax for making it!

Before we decide on characters, let's see what people are interested in.

A stoat in a mouse culture would be a dangerous predator, a menacing monster.  While running such a character might eventually be worthwhile, I would rather limit starting characters to those species that don't menace mice (except for rats, which have joined the Pax Rodentia after brutal fighting reduced their proud empires to ruin).

I'm in!  I think I'd like to play a small cute fuzzy creature.

Everything you write up or decide for the game, you should put up under the freetext MUS, MUS II (or what ever you want to call your version).

Any chance I might be able to join? I like the look of this!

I never got this one started, as several other worthy RPs launched as I was getting my plans in order.  Right now, I'm definitely fully committed elsewhere, but if someone else wants to take Scrasamax's Kingdom of Mus setting and run with it, it would probably be a good thing.
