I may attempt a truly revolting post (in character). Any objections?

Triumph of the Dungeon Master!

Ah, how I have come to love that sense of accomplishment and victory that I get when I pull the wool over the eyes of a clever player character. What DM Triumphs have you had?

Some of mine:
1. Finally killing an incredibly powerful, lucky, annoying player's character.
2. Finally achieving a TPK (Total Party Kill)
3. Finally achieving a TPK using only traps
4. Finally working out how to make it so that d**n wizard doesn't steal the spotlight all the d**n time.

Okay, Bakur should probably post something soon. Kiph too I guess, but he has been played regularly for some time now. Remember this one thing: Inaction means indecision and indecision + bullets = bad.

As for the rest of you: Ralkhara and Ceres are running down a corridor, not much to be said about that. As soon as the Kiph + Bakur sequence has played for another 10-30 seconds, I am going to come with a post, and just lets say that your actions are "somewhat" important. One could even say that lives depend on those posts :p

This is as good a time as any I guess.

Kiph is obsessed with Ceres. Not so much from a "true love" perspective, but from a more, Ceres-Boss, Kiph-slave-quivering-and-whimpering-on-the-floor-with-pleasure kinda "love".

Kiph respects Ralkhara, which to Kiph means mostly silence toward the man.

Kiph hates to love, and loves to hate Bakur. He would kill him if sufficiently "pushed", but he would also risk his own life to save him.

Kiph sees you three as the only family he has, fellas!  :P

Just read your post, and need some clarification. I thought we were in the cellar about to go thru the door Damien did. I am a little confused...with seeing outside at the moment.

sorry, I might of missed something

Nope. You are right. I just added to what you saw when you were up above.

A little retro action so to speak. When you guys fast forward in time, and I feel the need to hand out relevant information, I will do that.

Glad to know that you ask when you need to!

Continuity:
In the part of the tunnels where Ralkhara, Jonathan and Ceres originally found themselves there was no light.
In the part of the tunnels where they have now met Bakur and Kiph, there is a dim light shining from a light bulb.

This is not an error. The tunnel that Kiph and Bakur followed was dimly lit, the one the others followed was not. They are presently at an Y-junction with the two groups emerging from each their "upper branch" of the Y. They can turn in either direction, or they can follow the third tunnel into the tunnelcluster beneath the center of town. If you still want to the storage facility, this is where you should go.

Ralkhara is wary of going back above - if there was 2 explosions, there can easily be a third. He'd much rather risk staying down here and waiting it out for a half-hour.

And since Muro did it, I may do a relationship thing as well:

Ralkhara finds Ceres too sure of her ways and perhaps arrogant, than is good for her. While the decisions she has made thusfar have mostly been correct, he believes she should take time to think out her ideas before acting on them, or there's no telling when her next decision may turn sour. Ralkhara tolerates Ceres.

Ralkhara finds Kiph to be unpredictable and volatile. This presents a challenge to Ralkhara, and stepping up to the challenge, he attempts to find ways to curb Kiphs insanity into directions which aren't quite so dangerous to himself or others. Ralkhara believes the way Kiph acts is an affront to the Nomad society, but due to reasons of his own, he accepts this. Ralkhara tolerates Kiph.

Ralkhara finds Al Raish surprisingly sharper than what he'd expected - and heard about - the Bizaad al-Tabuh. However, he believes Bakur doesn't know his own sharpness, and as such doesn't act on it. He allows himself to be led by Ceres. This grates on Ralkhara. Ralkhara tolerates Bakur.

Ralkhara doesn't consider any of you as family. He perhaps sees you all as 'Friends of convenience', if anything. Of course, he'd never tell any of you this.  :o

sweet! pitch-black, squeeling sounds, etc...Kiph is energized. Now, if he could only get past the "arousal" of Ceres touching his hand, he will try out some of his new "toys"

Hehe. So much for the toys, eh?

GM Rules this:
After Kiph dropped his newfound toy and moved up alongside Ceres, she no longer has the freedom of movement she previously enjoyed. She has to be careful how she swings her two handed sword now, so she is at -15% to hit. Any fumble will have a higher likelyhood of involving Kiph.

This is because flails, two handed swords, military chains and the like requires certain radius of free space to work optimally.

So... decisions, people! First decision: Immediate actions:
 - Go back down the hole?
 - Go out the front way?
 - Wait it out?

I don't see many more options. Going back down the hole means Gkraun. Since the Gkraun are climbing the air vents, waiting it out also means Gkraun. Going out the door means possible unknown danger (ie. why is there blood coming from out there? *Danger signal*).
Personally, after a few seconds of preparation (such as fixing up those PDAs with the toolkit), I think we should make a dash for the vehicles. First of all: Ralkhara can ride the bike with ease. He can drive the truck at half riding skill, AG assures me. The bike has a machine-gun which means more firepower, but it can only carry two (Perhaps 3, with one on the back and one in the sidecar.).
But then, we have no idea what's out there. Enemies with guns? Would be dangerous trying to drive away from someone firing a machine-gun at us.
While we're on that note - if we take the truck, we should kick over the bike to help slow down any pursuers, if there's anyone out there.

Eventual actions:

1 - We could go and try to save the town - hunt down the big bad Gkraun at the Faculty
2 - we could perhaps seek help from the warden/spacers.
3 - We could ignore the situation and leave Bleak Wood, never looking back. (Sounds safe to me! :D)
4 - We could go to Nomad Town.
5 - We could go to the storage facility.
6 - We could go on a Looting/killing spree in the chaos of the Gkraun general attack! Kiph would be up for that, i'm sure!
7 - ??? (Make suggestions!)

Ralkhara would be partial to leaving Bleak Wood, or perhaps seeking company of fellow Nomads in Nomad town.
From most likely to least likely for Ralkhara: 3,4,5,2,1,6
But on that note, that definitely doesn't mean Ralkhara would not go to the faculty or even a looting spree. It just means he'd be more comfortable doing those other things.

_____

Jonathan on the device:
""Somewhat distracted by the running footsteps of the guards in the corridor outside, Jonathan patted Ceres on the shoulder. "No, it is not a weapon, nor a tool of war or medicine" he said quietly. Feeling his way towards the ancient contraption, he slid open the panel, a soft orange light emanating from it. "Hah, do you see? Not even the EMP discharge we just experienced could knock it out!" he said triumphantly, then quickly added: "By EMP I mean the explosion that caused our electrical systems to fail". Jonathan reached for Ceres' right sleeve and tugged softly, urging her to come forward. "I cannot be sure, but if this is what I think it is, it is what made the ancients fall. It is what they warred about. But... I cannot be sure. You must let me study it, Ceres, and I will have an answer within a month. I promise!"""

So. Here's my thoughts: Exactly what is the device we found? More importantly; can the Gkraun general make 'evil' use of it and are the Gkraun pawns smart enough to take it to him? Is that device highly explosive?

If there's little chance of retrieving the device, and if Jonathan assures us that it is not explosive, Ralkhara would like to send the Gkraun a 'parting present' in the form of a grenade down the air vent just before they flee the scene. Hell, it might even break the tunnel and stop the Gkraun sewer advance altogether.
On the other hand, it might blow up a powerful nuclear device which had been carelessly left down there, and eradicate the entirety of Bleak Wood, effectively ending the story a few chapters earlier than even AG expected :D

So. Thoughts?
