Sounds like a great way to wrap up our sub plot to me! 

(After more then a month of the scene being left hanging I admit my interest in finishing it has dwindled to pretty much nil, and I'd much rather see us join the main group and story line sooner rather then later.)

Unless of course this game is going to be sitting on the back burner for another month or more, in which case a heads up to your players would be most appreciated GM

That was pretty much exactly my train of thought there. Simple, easy transition, gets everyone together, and gets things moving again.

The Rule of Relevance: If it doesn't further the storyline and/or develop the characters, don't bother showing it, just assume that it happened.
