for right now, stick with the torches, as we can't afford a lantern or two and still pick up armor and other supplies we need.

The results of our spending in town:

As a party, we spent 12 gp on various expenses while in town.  This paid for two days of low quality food and accommodations and replaced minor consumables such as crossbow bolts, minor repairs to armor and mundane weapons, torches, etc.

From the caravanserai in town, each of us gets:
1 Waterskin
1 Warm Cloak or Bedroll (whichever you prefer)
and 6 days' dried rations
Total cost for six people: 31 gp, 15 sp

Moruz gets:
1 pair Soft, Comfy Boots (He's getting decadent already!)
Needle and thread
2 Large Belt Pouches
Dagger
5 Iron Spikes
5 Torches
Total: 6 gp, 12 sp

Talia gets:
Studded Leather Armor (in the style favored in the Capitol these days)
3 Candles
Chalk
50’ rope
Total: 15 gp, 7 sp

Aerex gets:
4 pairs rusty old manacles (a donation from the guards he impressed)
Wooden Buckler
Total: 1 gp

Total: 66 gp, 14 sp

(Revised and detailed on Oct 3)

There's still money to buy stuff.  Vee could be outfitted with what we've got left, which is plenty.

But I do have to ask, who put Wulf in charge of purchasing?

I was just trying to ensure that Talia got some armor.  What items do you guys need?  If you need something, speak up.
What do you have in mind?

Nobody's character was described as having rations or water and only a couple had foul-weather gear.

Normally, I say divide the treasure fairly and let each person deal with their own share.  With the limited resources we had, I figured that it would be wiser to pool resources this once.

Random Thoughts

--speaking of next chapter, I see Chapter I going another two weeks of real time approximately...maybe less. Then you can rest, recharge the ole' RP battery, and LEVEL UP (yeah baby!)

--so lets buckle down and go go go!!

--Can someone make a single OOC post with everyones HP's and AC? (thank you)

--welcome valadaar!

--I am off to get you to the cave!! (ETA 45 minutes)

--Also, see Scras' super-linked Back In the Day tinkering on main site! new features! (thanks Scras)

--I feel I must make a sub about The Accursed Codde-Piece of Red Hatchet *sigh* (and add it to the BitD Codex)

--Vee gets *25 bonus XP* for this: (OOC - Moved us back to the Inn, lets FF through sleeping and get on to the cave again, I wants me more XP and gold!)

read the new post, and don't know what to add at this point so I will drop some standing orders for Vee so the game doesnt bog down waiting for me tonight.

Vee is feeling guilty for costing the party the 6GP and is going to be gung-ho for getting some more treasure, and will likely volunteer to scout ahead/lead going into the cave. if he ends up with a torch he will carry his whip to disarm/entangle foes if encountered, if torchless he will scout ahead with crossbow ready. Discretion is the better part of valor, so he will rather find stuff and then report back than kick in a door or jump over a ledge and start shooting. Otherwise Vee will hang close with Moruz and Aethelstan.

*slightly modified old school home-brew version*

Name: ?
Race: Lizard (Plumed Basilisk)
Occupation: Dujek's Familiar

HD: 2
HP: 8 (packs a lotta hp in that seven inch frame!)
AC: 7 (fast bugger!)

Abilities: none that special. It can bite for 1 point of damage if it "strikes". Limited, rudimentary telepathy (with Dujek only). It gets 2 hp's for every level you gain.

Abilities granted you:

--+1 to hide check

--+1 to AC.

--'Swimming' skill added to your puny stable of skills

--You can run on/across small bodies of water. This is not exactly like "walk on water". You have to move fast, skimming the surface. It lasts 10-15 seconds a pop. Usable once per day.

--You cast spells as a mage one level higher than you are, for purposes of range, effect, distances, etc.
you get one permanent hit point. (only once..initially)

--Once you achieve third level, you can cast "touch-attack" spells via your lizard!

--*Danger* if it dies, you automatically lose 4 hp's. At this level, (you had 3, now you have 4), that would mean you die. At second level, if it dies, you lose 6 hp's. 3rd? 8..and so on. You would obviously lose all other benefits, and furthermore, The Lizard King would be unhappy with you.

--He dislikes the cold. He enjoys being warm. He likes snacking on fruit. Keep him happy. Good luck!

Okay, here's the suggested attack plan:

We split up and explore the caves carefully.  Aerex and Talia will explore the south tunnel, and Vee and Moruz will explore the north.  Both rogues should move in first, Moving Silently and Hiding in Shadows.  If the opportunity to strike occurs, the warriors will charge and the rogues Backstab.

If either team gets overwhelmed... fall back to the mouth of the cave?  Unless anyone has a better idea.

Aeth will go with whichever team has lower HP (someone want to figure that real quick? :D)

Dujek can go grab his lizard and come back when able.  Tristan will return whenever he's able.

Thoughts?

Okay folks, sorry for my absence. Grandmother finally died, had to go down to the funeral. I just got back today, and I'll try to catch up as best as possible. The next few days are hectic for me though, so my RPing will come whenever it gets the chance.

Once again, sorry for the absence.
