Yes: Have fun ;)

Seriously: There are too many things to tell. You just have to take one step at the time. If you are going to be the "Dungeon Master" you ought to check out the resources on this site.

Cheers

My one hint would be to play Palladium. :)

As long as you have a couple friends with the same interests, you will figure it out. The key, as AG mentioned, is having fun and giving it a try. Everything else will come together through experience.

And the blood of your foes.  You'll have to wade through that too.
They were immediately and absolutely recognizable as adventurers... They were hardy and dangerous, lawless, stripped of allegiance or morality, living off their wits, stealing and killing, hiring themselves out to whoever and whatever came. They were inspired by dubious virtues.  China Mieville - Perdido Street Station

Perhaps, but like a large number of the topics and threads here, still useful, in its own way. Proof? You posted here, months after the originator is nowhere to be found.

The group that I used to play in was pretty large (six people including the DM) and so it was really hard for us to all get together at the same time. I'm thinking of picking up the DMing for Dummies so I can persuade some of my nerdy friends to start a campaign, though I'd rather just be a player.
