Favorite threads on other sites
« on: February 04, 2006, 11:55:04 AM »
There are my current favorite "lite" threads on other sites. Sure there are others that delve deeply into game theory or some obscure game system, but these are threads gamers can enjoy.

Campaign Trailers

Overly Honest RPG Book Covers

Describe your favorite game setting as a bad movie trailer

Of course, you may have other threads which are deeper or have more content... so have fun and post them too.

[Creative exercise/game] Present a setting solely in terms of character classes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just like the thread title says. The name of the game is to create or present a setting, but to present it entirely in the form of a comprehensive list of player character classes.

Rules
*No description of the setting/game beyond the character classes. That would miss the whole point.
*There must be at least three and no more than eight character classes.
*Each class is a name and a brief description - twenty words maximum.
*They must all be player character classes. No "villain classes" or anything else intended to be off limits to players.
*Conversely, only the character classes given are valid options for play.
*Any combination of options from the list should create an equally workable game.
*No cop-out "wild card" character classes that are defined as "those who don't fit any of these classifications".
*You can talk about the setting you had in mind after someone has commented on your list. So...
*... comment on people's lists, even if you've not submitted one of your own. Guess what kind of setting they're supposed to be for and what the game would look like.

So someone started a thread with a fun World of Warcraft motivational poster.

So I'm wondering, could there be the makings of another fun photoshop thread there? Let's see....
