Hello! I'm new the forums, I found this link from the Seventh Sanctum forums and was happily surprised when I got here! This looks like a beautiful writer's community!

My name is Stephanie, or DragonRhapsody. I'm 22, and an aspiring writer - I've never really finished much but short stories, and I am hoping to end that by entering NaNoWriMo in November! <3

Hello DragonRhapsody, welcome to our little world.

We, I suppose, are sort of a writer's community, but not in the purest of sense. Many ideas and submissions here, I am sure, would flow rather well into the writing aspect though.

Spend some time looking around and I hope something here tickles you in the right way and you vomit some beautiful prose.

Personally, vomiting beautiful prose tends to take a back-seat to vomiting up bloody battle scenes and so on, for me.

CaptainPenguin - I do Roleplay, and I love it! <3 The only problem I find is that the Roleplays I've joined have all died down a bit! ~__~

But I do still try to peek in once in a while, even if just to read new submissions.

I tried to write a book once. Is page 2 a good effort?

But mostly when I'm not working i've been sleeping. Holidays are ridiculously busy for a chef and work can get tiring.

I never thought i'd be looking forward to the END of the holidays!

While we are a gaming community, we actually do quite a bit of writing. Think of most of this as a place to post up pieces of a story not yet written. If you have an interesting character, location, setting, item, or plot, you can work it out here by posting it up. Our view of utility will be a bit different than a standard writers group, as characters, locations, groups, etc, written up will need to be supporting types... things that can be "placed" in the game stories of others.

The best thing about this site is it gives you a concrete way to practice descriptive writing and creative elements. If you just posts one thing every day, you will hone your writing stills and your ability to produce prose. You can also build off the ideas of others. You can also exercise your creative muscles here and find new ways to find inspiration.

Personally, I have adopted eight or so categories (or sub categories). I write in each one every two weeks... so I have a self imposed schedule. Each thread is a writing exercise, a forced topic or some constraint on what I write. Some of my favorites are:

Oh I don't mind! Who doesn't love to talk about themselves or what projects they have on a the go?

The short stories I have completed range between Non-Fiction, Romance and Sci-Fi. Mostly because they were all written for assignments in school {last year, when I re-took gr 12 english, and four years ago, when I was in highschool}.

I usually write short stories based on an Essay prompt {such as: "The choices we make can surprise us," or "The closest to us help us to learn."}--silly things like that.

I love to write Fantasy-SciFi, because it's the one thing I know a lot about! I'm very good for information on "real" magick, in the real world, so I usually incorporate that into my stories.

I also love Sailormoon.

So I write a lot of Fanfiction regarding that. But I would love to take the amazing ideas I have for new Sailormoon characters and turn it into something original -- I'm 22, and it's time I started to work on something that might get published one day! {Hopefully}

LOL, yes, I like Sailormoon, but I prefer the MANGA, to the anime.

I like the GAME Pokemon, not the Anime, and Digimon I never watched! ^__^

Eva was good, I thought the first ending sucked so hard. The Movie {which was how it was "supposed to" end, but because they didn't have enough money, it couldn't}, the movie rocked my arse.

I thought it was fantastic, and I couldn't be more happy with all the blood guts and psychotic revelations!

I happen to like a lot of Mech-anime, like Raxephon, Stellvia, etc.
