A selection of businesses that my PC's have started in My D&D Realm.

Greetings!

I am eldarbeast, eldar to my friends, and I have joined this august group to learn better roleplay, both before and behind the DM's board.

My humble beginning in D&D started in 1991, after experiencing a spiral fracture of the right fibula while LARPING with the Markland Medieval Mercenary Militia.  Before this time, I was an avid boardgamer (Blitzkrieg, Panzer Leader, Squad Leader, Wooden Ships and Iron Men, Axis and Allies, Risk), with limited roleplaying through the Traveller RPG system.

I had avoided D&D due to the rumours of its being 'Satanical'...

*Whew!*  Glad there was no truth to that!

I joined Aramax's game at about year 17. My first character was a short lived 'blink' dog. My next PC was almost as short lived. Then I buckled down and really started to take an interest in the game and my third PC. Some three years later after having been slain and brought back to life due to a forgotten ring upon my finger, Real Life's fortunes had me leaving to seek greener pastures.

I moved to several different states in seeking a better way to make a living. And, along the way, I met others in the various Realms of roleplaying: Some like Chris, who taught me that keeping Your PC's happy was one of the finer points running long campaigns, Consistency is another secret, and actually following an outline helps to guide Your PC's towards the goals they think they need to achieve.

I have been more DM for the past decade, predominantly 2nd Ed, D&D in the Forgotten Realms from the Moon Sea to Arabel, to the Sword Coast and lastly the Vilhon Reach. My longest campaign was the same 5 PC's and lasted nearly 6 years. They retired their PC's at between 15th through 17th levels.

My current group are all new Players and we have played for nearly two years.

And, I recently joined a 'new' Basic D&D game as a player character!

So, please take me away and enrich me with Your wit and charm!

You had me at hello. Welcome!!

Triumph of the Dungeon Master!

Ah, how I have come to love that sense of accomplishment and victory that I get when I pull the wool over the eyes of a clever player character. What DM Triumphs have you had?

Some of mine:
1. Finally killing an incredibly powerful, lucky, annoying player's character.
2. Finally achieving a TPK (Total Party Kill)
3. Finally achieving a TPK using only traps
4. Finally working out how to make it so that d**n wizard doesn't steal the spotlight all the d**n time.

So, Scrasamax,

How do you retransmit Your stories from what ever media you are using at home to this forum?

I am not very computer literate...

A number of people write in Google Docs or in Word and then copy-pasta into a submission. It can be dangerous to write in the editor itself, although I hear rumors of automagically saved drafts in a future version of the site.

MysticMoon,

I suppose that there is a "for Dummies" book around that can better help me understand how to do the 'copy-paste' thingie better than I have been doing it, neh?

I will be better prepared the next time I sign on.

It's another 'teaching an old dawg new tricks' thing for me...

Thanks for your assistance and answers.

I never told anybody about this place cause I've always planned on putting Mysantia up here,I'm gonna put the maps up on google doc in Feb,but the keys will be here, I'm going to sketch out the City moon and a campain overview and then fill them in, I also have a google doc of my latest house rules(some of my best work IMHO,LOL)
