When are you going to add sections about the Sand Sailors and Medieval superheroes?

And how about you run an Arth RP in the Moderated Freeform?

Sand Sailors... probably never... I have a thread for that world, Skiffs of Kalazar  http://www.rpgcitadel.com/guild/index.php?topic=1264.0
I may or may not make that part of Arth

Medieval SuperHeroes...
After I finish a) all the known lands and OneOcean, b) finish up all the orbs I have, d) all the neighborhood ideas (including all of the Antioch ones) and c) finish the last few entries of Kerren, or d) When I get bored and feel like it.

I am not running Arth in a moderated forum here.  If you want to run one, feel free... run amok.  Just so you know, the magic system is of the flavor of a simplified GURPS (which is appropriate since The Fantasy Trip was GURPs version 0.3). Spell casting fatigues the caster.  The magic aspects are all you really need to know before running the game with what is up.

As for why?  The population here does not sustain solid games for too long, that is why there will be a Kerren game, just not here.  If we could of even kept up the Scribes game I would of had hope... but allass, alack, and so on....

Common Cards entry 7/17

Planning on just pulling out Forth and MaskLands info from main section and using those as the posts for those areas.

Updated SecondLand to finish the 12 human biomes (Western region) and the two Amizonti biomes. Included important elements and archetypes for all.

FirstLand updated with the Elventi Species information.

I should finish SecondLand sometime this weekend. This leaves me in a quandry. I hate Dwarves. I admit it openly. Back in the day, it wasn't fantasy until you had Dwarves. So I added them. Made them reclusive and avoiding the world. I made them second class citizens and oppressed by the Elventi Imperium.  I encorperated them into the social and technological ecology of the world.  They were there if someone HAD to be one. In fact, I had such a player. He did not like the fact that people might not "Love Dwarves" and that they were losers.  He eventually broadened his roleplaying horizons to include Humans and Cat People. Even after all this time, I still do not like them.

However, the next thing that needs to be done is to Flesh out these Dwarventi in the northern part of ThirdLand.  Maybe I should start at Southern parts of ThirdLand and work north. Maybe I should Do NorthLand, FourthLand, and MaskLand. Maybe I should just bite the fricken bullet and do it. I forced myself to do a Dwarven City, I can force myself to do the entire species.

Change it. Make Dwarves your own, like I have (Duerga). So it conflicts a little, it will all even out in the end.

No. I need subterranian, mountain living, technologically orriented stone smiths who hate Elventi. I need them because other parts of the world are made around them and their presence to the world.  It would take a lot of work to rip them out, create something new that fills the exact same points, then intergrate them back in. Unlike The Duerga, the world is already formed. I would be pulling out a cog in a well oiled machine and have to insert something that was round, connected the other elements in a radial motion, so things keep working. Oh wait. I could just insert another cog.

So I could create a Dwarf-like thing, but why recreate the wheel, when I can use the standard bit.  Besides, I would hate the re-created dwarf subsitute just as much.   AT least my Dwarves fit into a relatively realistic ecology, patterns of existance, and use hammers (which are useful in mining) instead of axes.

SecondLand Updates
« Reply #7 on: August 24, 2004, 03:25:39 AM »
No new pages were added, but additional information was added to every SecondLand page (Main to Central Region).  I will finish SecondLand and move on the ThirdLand in full force soon.

I am organizing ThirdLand's Great Ridge now. So it will be ready to go when I finish SecondLand.

I have been plugging away at this...
« Reply #8 on: September 10, 2004, 03:37:10 PM »
It would seem like I am not doing anything (or much of anything with Arth). If you were just looking at this forum, that would be true.  I need some time to work some Dwarventi things out. Once I do that I will continue on. However I am still posting ARTH material... just in different threads.

City Image: Every city has a different basic look and feel. Its personality is expressed through its structure and architecture.  There are three ThirdLand cities posted here, Antioch, Amar, and Avon. The Dwarventi city I did is also in ThirdLand. I am planning on doing more.
http://www.rpgcitadel.com/guild/index.php?topic=1583.0

Neighborhoods:  These are sections of a city that can be added as areas to cities you are developing.  There are several Antioch neighborhoods in this thread.  (As of this writing, there are only two more neighborhoods to do. They are the most "average").
http://www.rpgcitadel.com/guild/index.php?topic=1526.0

I have posted info in these threads.  The A few villages post by me in http://www.rpgcitadel.com/guild/index.php?topic=715.0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 The names in http://www.rpgcitadel.com/guild/index.php?topic=1016.0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15  Many of the groups I have posted in this thread are Known World http://www.rpgcitadel.com/guild/index.php?topic=659.0 .

So why I look lazy, I am actually pretty darn productive.

I feel a Fifth and SixthLand coming
« Reply #9 on: January 21, 2005, 10:51:22 AM »
I have been doing a lot of work recently on some random fantasy elements. I have the world of the Azure Quarter, I have the Lyrans, I have some cool Trolls, some knights from an odd world, sand ships, and dozens of others.

One of the metaplots of Arth was the search for "FifthLand" that area blank on the map below FirstOcean that people believe is where the next Land will appear, like MaskLand and ForthLand did.

I am busting out with so many fantasy ideas that I think there will be a whole other "Known World" in that area. There are a number of lands I want to insert.

Just a musing: A world with Fantasy SuperHeroes, which is one I want to do, would make The Elventi feel threatened. After all, here are Humans who have powers that Rival High Elventi -though without their skill of course. .... Hmmmm. Would they invade? Perhaps since the Heroes are vigilantees against the corrupt local governments (or the weak honest ones), they never would band together to be an army of paranormals... thus no real threat to an older High Elventi (I mean even the peaceful ladies of the court have had a few years, if not decades, of practice with Spears and Knives over the centuries).  If the central government there just decides to Join the Imperium... there really will be no change for most people, so super beings might not be a danger.

Okay. CP. I will put Sand Skiffs into Arth. it fits the artificial nature of the world better.

So we Lyrans and The City of Caulderon (and a land for them to terrorize) to add to.

AHHHHHHHH!!!!! to many good ideas..... Brain overspilling...

An Eastern ThirdLand Posting - The Cliffside
This is the prototype for all the SkyFolk/ Wing Folk society. These people live on the far part of the Antioch Plains... so as far East from Antioch (and Amar) as you can get and not hit ocean.

The Beginings of the Mages Guild, as a school of magic.
http://www.strolen.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=32555#32555

Arth is slowly growing because of other posts. This is a good thing.

Much of the world is already done and hiding in the main Arth Thread, it just needs to be "clean up". I was waiting for Strolen 2.0, as the expansion of the Arth Thread would become "automatic". ThirdLand being the most complicated, and the place where most people will "adventure", needs more work and expansion. The various regions just need their highlights. The Mountainous North and the Ruins of the South are the two areas my campaign actually never reached. So rather than just rattling off everything I remember, I have to actually have to think about and construct these parts. I am also reworking the Dwarventi so they are not just cyphers, stereotypic Dwarves of para-tolkein myth.

More Dictonary entries. Grand Council should have a better write up.

Please remember that I have put a lot of Arth related books in the Book Thread ( http://www.rpgcitadel.com/guild/index.php?topic=1633.0 ) Look for MoonHunter posts there. Everything Arth is marked such, which should include all my posts in that thread except the Red Hand. I just added a few more details to the world through the use of a book and the historical NPC.

Should I include the names of all the various "peoples" Arthians, Amarian, Avonian, SecondLander/ Clansmen, Masklanders, Lamic and N'getti peoples or should we just make people read?
