The halls of the underwater maze twisted viciously, branching and curving with a vengeance, as if deliberately trying to lead the five off the path they sought. Hishe seemed to navigate almost on some strange instinct, pausing only briefly at the splits in the tunnel before chasing down one.
The torchlight cast the statues scattered through the maze into an almost demonic relief, and friezes along the walls retold, in a somewhat greater detail, the tale Hishe had related about the destruction of an entire land by some vastly powerful force capable of shattering the very earth into pieces.
Finally, the smell of flame, lightning, and sulfur began to fill the air, and Hishe finally slowed again. "...The Lugh were near, to try and stop the Sorcerer."
