I have a question you may be able to help me with, Kevin.
...

Is this legit? Is this common?

Yes ... Chessex is probably the largest polyhedral manufacturer in the world (by # of dice sold) ... they are legit ... albeit a bit behind the times

If I were looking for pounds of dice I would check ebay ... as this is the safest and probably the least expensive option

I got my Chessex Pound-O-Dice today and am quite satisfied. I got a very cool crystal clear d6 with gold number dots (and 8 of the exact same d20). I was wondering if you had collected the "special range of speckled dice" sets "only available in the Pound-O-Dice." There appears to be 6 different sets and I couldn't find any of them on the Chessex page of your website.

I just thought I'd make sure you had them (not that I have any right to advise you on your collection, I have about a mere 300 dice total). Happy hunting, Sir.

Pieh

I am glad you like your pound of dice

Can you show me the crystal D6? ... I would be curious to see it

As to the speckled dice ... According to Chessed they aren't necessarily made in sets ... the manufacturer may make only D20 and D8's or they may make full sets ... it all depends on what they are making that day ...

The pounds of dice .. truly are random

It's not really crystal, i was just using that to describe how clear it is. Here is a pic:

As to the speckled dice. That's interesting, since what I read said there was 1 complete set of special dice always shipped with each pound of dice. And the 6 colors shown on the insert I got are all of d10's.

Kevin, you are a mighty one-man army. I salut you. Keep on dicing!

Triumph of the Dungeon Master!

Ah, how I have come to love that sense of accomplishment and victory that I get when I pull the wool over the eyes of a clever player character. What DM Triumphs have you had?

Some of mine:
1. Finally killing an incredibly powerful, lucky, annoying player's character.
2. Finally achieving a TPK (Total Party Kill)
3. Finally achieving a TPK using only traps
4. Finally working out how to make it so that d**n wizard doesn't steal the spotlight all the d**n time.

HELP needed
« Reply #172 on: February 19, 2011, 08:53:24 AM »
Everyone here has been so great over the years ... I now need a bit of help ID'ing some comic book symbols ... It has been many years since I worked in the comic industry and I just cant recognize these symbols ... all of them seem familiar ... but I just cant place them

Click on the thumbnail to see a larger photo

I believe that the symbol on the right is for the Nite Owl (Watchmen)

I purchased these in an auction and they were custom dice made by Chessex before they were given a cease and desist order

Any help would be greatly helpful

EDIT: Got very fast answer from another reader

Just a small note that a lot of your links, (Anything hosted on http://www.dicecollector.com ) are quite dead and give the 'ol 404 error. It'd be nice to see the the dead links updated if possible?
