The War of Andune

Anfalas could stand it no more. And neither could Talahar. The Kings of both countries could not ignore th outcries of the citizens for war and so they yieled and called to war against each other. Both were hoping for a quick and painless war, the Kings thought. But the soldiers on both sides knew better. They had both been in border skirmishes with the Anfalas Ranger and the Talaharan Legion Soldier; they knew this would be a long and bloody war. The armies of Anfalas were smaller, but were more well-kpt, organized into tighter fighting units and adapt to fighting in small groups. The Talaharans were by far larger, but not as well organized. But they were elite in open field and heavy assault tactics. The first met battle was on a small creek bed on the border called by the Talaharans as the Skald River, but by the elves as the Erin River. It didn't matter, for soon they wouldn't care the name, only for their survivals. The battle was short, but bloody. Talaharan archers took position on the west bank while Elvish archers took positions on the east bank. They sent vollies on both sides and it prooved to be useless for the Talaharans who were no match for the well-sighted elves. So they sent heavy calvary across and they were able to push back the archers, but only to meet tight armoured soldiers and they soon lost ground. The Talaharan Commander soon decided to send all the forces rushing in. This tactic worked, using brute force against the Elves, but not without heavy casualties, the elves retreated farther into the woods, and the humans could not go into the forest without coming out looking like a pincussion. The humans withdrawed onto the west bank and set camp. The elves seeking their chance did a nigt attack. It was devasting, but the humans were not surprised, for they had hired wild elves who had lived in the plains of Talahar to help them. This with the power of the humans, in a fight that lasted a night, were able to finally drive back the elves. But on both sides heavy prices had been made. And so both Kings of the country knew this war would be terrible.

The Elvish Commander had heard of the Battle of the Erin, but cared not for it. He was a ruthless and cunning elf, who cared only for victory and nothing for the lives of his men. He had graduated from the Aademy and was indeed the best and the brightest of the commanders of the Anfalas Military. So he was to attack Talahar from the southeastern border with only 5,000 soldiers under his command! That was ridiculous, but orders were orders, and he would be glad to attack the 'fertile' lands of Talahar which was located in the southern part. So, he marched his men off to war. The elvish commander, was a  very known nobel and love to how it off to all the other elf nobels. He was a short, but stern elf, with a pale face from too much reading and not getting in the sun and his hair was pale blond, his face sharply elvish. He wore the white armour of the Anfalas Field soldier. Brigandine armour at the best. He was slim and looked skinny, but made of iron. He had a short sword and a long bow with him on his white horse as he moved with the front of the army. His name was Aelric Leithe, and it sparked fear among his men, for they knew him to be a ruthless elf and behind them they called him the d**ned High Elf, for he indeed was a high elf, and one of the last in all of Anfalas.

Jean D'Essoms was riding with his 10,000 men, 5,000 elite blade masters and 2,000 elephant riders twenty men on each elephant, 2,000 archers, and 1,000 warg riders. With 2,000 wild elves following behind in the tall grass. With all of a sudden the wild elves had a change of heart and attacked the Anfalas with pure hate the wild elves wee cutting through the Anfalas elves as the elepants stomped them to death. Talaharan archers ent vollies of arrows into the elves.

Aelric saw many ofhis men fall and he ordered the retreat instantly. They had underestimated the power of the armies of Talahar and so they ran on heels, or galloped in Aelric's case. With his officers into the forest of Andune and into the encampment when which they had left. The survivors ran in and they rushed to the edge of the forest to see where the Talaharans were heading to. They were following them right into the forest, and Aelric saw his moment of glory. He orders the archers to do what they had trained to do. They hid in the trees, high up and when the Talaharans came into range, let the arrows fall. They stopped the Talaharans dead in their tracks and the Elves made a wall of spears inside the forest waiting as more arrows fell into the archers. Then they ordered the charge and slammed into the Talaharans by surprise. They thought it would disrupt them, but the actually started to withdraw. This renwed the hope of the Anfalas soldiers and they pressed on. The Talaharans retreated, and the Anfalas men yelled out victory. But many had fallen. More then half of their 5,000 strong army had been killed, and only a few hundred were actually battle-fit. This would bebad for Aelric, he thought as he ordered the men back to camp. Very bad.

OOC:Are we required to enter as commanders from either army?

Jean saw the deadly mistake he had just done to his men and then reformed his ranks and waited for the elves to make their mistake as he had his men out of reach on the plains and was waiting for his military artillery to show up with his ballistas.

When the military artillery came he ordered the archers. They lit their arrows with fire and let them go. They fell into the wooden artillery and se them aflame. He then ordered a raid against the confused men. The calvary cut through them and then they rushed back into the forest.

ooc:Sentinel the men and artillery are out of reach from the arrows and the elves if they came out of the forest they would be out of cover from the trees.

The men laughed as they saw te arrows fall short of their destination and then when the elves came out into the open they were ambushed by the wild elves that were popping up in different places and shot down the wood elves quickly as they went back down. Then the Talaharan men charged and smashed into the ranks of the elves, their elephant riders still on the top of the hill waiting to be called back down into the heat of battle.

The wood elves fought savagely, staying in tight formations and groups they fought like packs of wolves and quickly made their way into the forest where they sent another volley who happened to try to get close.

The wondering demon appers in the battle seen, not fully understanding why this is going on, yet he knew he had to do something. He looked at the people fighting so savagly against the others, and he walked into the middle of it, he just knew that if anyone of those people came to fight him he would be ready. His hand reached for his sword and he looked at all the people, his sword still laid within his sheath, but ready to come out at anytime he needed

Luthien was riding through the woods on his horse Riverdance behind them and was ammuse at how sloppy the fightinwas on the continent. He had sheathed at his side his family's most treasured sword Blind-Striker which was made by both fairborn elves and the dwarves in which got along on the distant land of Eriador, forthey were considered slaves; humans little better. He had in a pouch on the horses back his bendable bow and on his back his crimson cape. He looked far different than any other humans here fo his skin is golden brown and shows his love of being outdoors. Which on Eriador it rains more than the sun shows. He pulled his horse to a stop near two elves and then asked in his accent.
May I inquire where I might be?

The two elves turned around as they had been waiting to be called upon into battle. They looked at Luthien stupidly.
"Anfalas. Get out of here."
As the battle raged on the Talaharans were finally beaten back and retreated. The elves roared out victory and started to gather their dead.

They smirked and went on their way into the field as they collected the dead and made a pile of the dead enemy.
