Elimirth

The second largest city in all of the Anfalas, it has long been the home of the Anawaith Ranger Guild and is very populace. Known for its beautiful architecture and gardens. Deep within the woods it has been home to Wood elves and others for thousands of years.

Geography

The city is guarded very easily with geography, moutians to the north, in which only one pass is know, the Kark Moutian Chain stretches across the country and has many settlements of mining towns along the foot of the moutians, and Elimirth is only one of them.
To the east, south, and west is the vast Anduine Forest in which much of Anfalas is covered it. The forest is covered by giant trees in which homes are easily built on the vast limbs of the red trees. The largest of this is located in the center of Elimirth itself, called the Great Tree in which the people of Elimirth believe the Wood Elves sprung from. A very temple has been built around the tree, worshiping Mother Earth.
To the south is the White River, wide and long it runs along the Kark Moutians for miles and ends in the Black sea in the west. It's source is said to be magical and gives immortality to any one who drinks from the source of the White River which is located in the moutians somewhere. It is called the White River for the water is very clean and the natives of Anfalas has made it so that will stay so, treasuring their source for power, many Mills and farms have sprung around the river giving agriculture to Anfalas.

Thanks. I've heard of Dragon Lance, but personally have never read them. I might give them a try at reading them. The next thing I will probably post is the economy of the city. Working on that now, but will not post in a while

There is only the basics of ideas here. There might be more to add, but people do not immediately see them.

So might I suggest, you as thread creator, manage your thread?

Ask questions about the background that we might make up answers for.

Ask for people to work on one particular section of the backgound; then give them seed ideas (fragments of ideas) that could be used in the particular section.

Keep posting things about the seting, eventually you might catch someones interest.

Do these things and your thread will thrive. Don't do these things and your thread will probably settle to the bottom of the forum never to be seen again.

Long before Anfalas was created, the wood elves were very much like their cousins, in the wild elves, they were nomadic and tribal people who hunted fought themselves for land and power in the Kark Moutian Region. But other elves lived in the are. Grey Eives, elusive and dangerous mages who stayed high in the moutians in their fortresses fought the barbaric wood elves who fought on the slopes of the moutians. Wild elves were encroaching from the south of Anfalas from the Furion plain in another realm. They were refugees from war and famine in their home and they immediately sparked war with the native Wood Elves. The only civilzed race in all of Anfalas were the high elves, who lived deep within the forest in their great halls. Dark elves started coming apparent in the caves of the Kark Moutians and war seemed to becoming a big reality. The wood elves, united under one banner, the Tsiroth Tribe, allied themselves with the high elves, who prepared war against the powers of the moutians. The wild elves, remained neutral and because of that became an enemy to the allies of the moutians and forests. They were drove out of Anfalas and went west where they were never seen again. Meanwhile, The Grey Elves, allied with the Dark Elves brought war out of the moutians. The Great Elf War, it was called by foreigners, but to the elves who fought in it, the war was just called the War. Thousnads died among the forests and moutians and the only way the Wood Elves won was by extreme will and strength. The High Elves were all wiped out in Anfalas and those who could, escaped from Anfalas. The Dark Elves retreted deep into their caves and there they stayed, the wood elves not willing to go farther. The Grey Elves retreted to their only fortress left. The Kaladrin. It was situated high up in the moutians next to an escarpment and the only way towards it was a narrow pass. The armies of Wood Elves engaged the fortress and it took a week of endless fighting to bring it down and all the Grey Elves killed. Thousands of elves had died on the sheer cliff and as the fortress bruned people said you could hear the moaning of the dead. The Wood Elves left the treasure of the Grey Elves in the their ruined fortresses and came down from the moutians. The Wood Elves then established a kingdom. The Kingdom of Anfalas. The War was 500 years ago and few live who remember the terrible war. The richness of Anfalas was apparent everywhere as cities rose in Anfalas and the might of Anfalas grew and they expanded. Not until they met broders to the west with Talahar did they stop. The Wild Elves still remembered what had happened to them by the hand of the Anfalas, and they resented the Kingdom of Anfalas. Border Skirmishes broke out between Talaharans and Anfalas Elves until open war seemed inevidtable. But the Kings of bother coutries called peace and unsteady peace still reigns, though talk of war may happen.
