Well,Alec,if you want to be a druid or mage, you can't be with the men from Caladin. You could join the Talaharans though. They probally allow the use of magic, but just to be sure, clarify it with Beowulf.

Character

Name: Benedicte de la Courcel
Age: 31
Blood: Human/ dejy
Gender: Male
Background: Born to a wealthy trading family in the Western Port cities, he had a deep love for the sea. He joined a ship as quickly as possible and learned to fight the sea monsters and become a mariner. As he grew up he steadily rose in the ranks until he was a Captian of his own ship. The Hellfire. He loved it so much, he loved it more then his own parents. He traveled around the world and learned much of other cultures, but stayed strictly Dejy in mannerisms and personality. When he reached the ports again, he was told once more to become a commodore. Over a whole fleet that was to explore and colonize new lands. He jumped to it and is now preparing to lead the fleets.

The food supplies on the Caladin fleet will be livestock:

Cows, pigs, chickens, geese, ox, pidgeons, etc.

The plant life is restricted due to being able to keep them alive.

Lettuce, corn, potatos, wheat.

Quick question: Where has it been explained that Caladin has laws against magic? I can't find it in the Settings Forge thread about Caladin. It's just been mentioned in this thread. I'm not trying to argue about the fact, I would just like to know the logistics behind it: Why is magic outlawed? Who enforces this law? Is magic innate to a person when they are born, or can it be learned as any other skill? If it is innate, how often is someone born with magic abilities? Is it extremely rare, or just uncommon? Etc, etc, etc.. I think you can see what I'm getting at. Just let me know. It'll help me with my character creation.

In The Settings Menu, out of the Setting Forge when I first made Caladin.

Magic was outlawed due to its unpredictability and the laws of history that the Historians of Caladin had learned from reading of ancient texts and finding out what had happened to the Kasmir Empire that was largely magical and that had been destroyed by the gods themselves.

The Militia enforces the law in their region and it is punishable by death whoever is seen practicing it. But the laws have loosened it up, and few pay actual attention to the law, though the Dejy of the west will ceritanly kill anyone who they practicing having their ancestors be slaves to the Kasmir.

Magic in this world is largely innate, and in Caladin it is very rare. The reson for it being so rare is that the ancestors who moved on to the continent some 2,000 years ago, were decendants of moutian folk who had lived in the Anfalas region in the Kark Moutians. They were driven out by the Grey Elves and Dark Elves of the area and they fled east. They have adapted to using no magic seeing no need for it, but just a few do seem to have it.

Now I know that this is going to piss some folks off, and I know that I have nothing to do with this RP, but I don't think that you should allow Kalabar to play with that character.
If you're going to let him play a character that is a Demon (who are generally presented as horrible monsters, but I guess his is a human with samurai skills?), he should at least do it well, but... Well, I think the character right-up speaks for itself.

And what is with opening up a Bato Jitsu arena?! That just flat out doesn't make sense. First of all, Bato Jitsu is one skill, drawing out your sword really fast; second, in the medieval ages, they did not just build arenas for skills they could NEVER HAVE KNOWN!
Unless Caladin is in Japan, which I doubt.

I thus bid you adieu.

Sentinel and Beowulf, after much thinking I have decided to come up with a new charrie for the Voyage, one that I feel would be able to give me greater freedom when Rping. He will be an ambitious Snake Rider chief that chooses to ally his small but strong tribe with the forces of Caladin,in the hopes of carving out his own maritime empire for his people. It will take me  a week or slightly longer, before I am ready to post it.Thank you for your patience on this matter.

P.S:I will be leaving today for my vacation and will only be back 4 days later.

Guys,I know you are impatient and want me to wrap up my character very quickly, but I might take a few days. This I assure you is not due to laziness, but to my ambition to make a charrie worthy of 4 flames.Though I have his personality and motvations ready,i have yet to flesh out the people and events that shape his life.Thank you for your time on this matter.

 Season's Greetings,Maggot.

P.S:Sent, who would a Snake Rider chieftain have to see in order to strike an alliance with Caladin.
