OK, This I going to be a game run under a medieval D&D style story system. I will DM the game and will determine the outcome of all situations and encounters. There will be no limit to the number of people who can play, nor will there be any limit to when players are allowed to join, but aside from the opening sequences, if you wish to join, you will need to PM me with your character and I will find a suitable place to insert your character.
Be forewarned that my Magic system may be different than what others are used to. For example, I see no reason why a wizard or mage could not cast a healing spell. If they can call down rain from heaven, and turn themselves invisible, and transform into another animal, then I see no reason why healing is out of their capabilities. So just be forewarned about that. I will handle problems as they arise.
No character should be significantly stronger or more powerful than a very skilled Human. I am going to assume that each character will be experts in their fields, but not so much that a human expert in their own field should not be able to match you. Limit your character to reason.
I am expecting to post about every three to five days. No sooner, no later. If I cannot make a deadline, I will try to tell you in advance with my apologies.
As for the actual rulings, I am going to reserve the right to countermand your post if I have reason to. I will PM you first so that you have a chance to edit it yourself, and after that, I will simply make whatever changes need to be made. If there is any issue about a ruling, about having to be absent, or about anything else that I should be informed of, please PM me, don’t do OOC stuff for an issue not involving everybody else. We will work it out privately and maturely. My actual decisions on everything will always have a realistic reason behind them, but it is not unknown for me to make mistakes. If you believe I have not taken something into account, you can feel free to PM me anytime about it. Sometimes however, I might not always be able to give you the reason why something did not turn out to your liking because there is something that you do not know yet. If this is so, I will tell you.
Aside from all that, All I ask is that everybody try to make the character they have interesting. Vary it a little. Not everybody should be a wizard with an ornately designed cloak with grey eyes that give him a mysterious appearance. Everybody should not be an elf with long black hair that goes down to their waist and shimmers in the night, who has gold colored eyes and a graceful yet confident stride who carries a bow made of pure silver and gemstones. Try to make your character stand out a bit. It is always more interesting when there is a group of unique individuals. Be different.
You can choose from any race you want, including half-races and undiscovered ones. You can have any profession you want to have, and excel in anything you want to do, so feel free to stick out a little. Remember that a good blacksmith with only moderate combat skills can be far more useful than any fighter or battle-mage. A healer with almost no ability to fight is often the most useful character in a group. And by doing that, it allows for ebb and flow within battle, instead of “everybody goes and kills a bunch of stuff. Now other players need to protect another person instead of themselves.
Anyway, this first post is just setting things up for the actual story. I am going to let everybody digest this and think about what angle they want to come in from for this post. Anybody who wants to can feel free to post a character sheet, but only say what one would notice from the first few encounters. I would much rather that you reveal the true depth of your character in bits and pieces, and through actions, rather than a character sheet.
Alright, that’s all, and I look fore ward to a good time.
