And do you know what the time difference between france and the eastern U.S.? because if your name means "Day" in french, then maybe it is afternoon over here. Whoa, I just realized something. Its an epiphany...oh, no, wait, thats just the label of my catsup bottle, not to be confused with catchup, which is completely different.

Actualy d'hui does sound french, but it does not mean day.
It seems to be derived from au jour d'hui, which in turn means today. The near litteral translation would be "on this day", but since french people tend to "mess" up the order of just about everything, they say on day this, so d'hui would be something like this, not day.

the proper word for day happens to be jour or journee depending on the context.

Well, so much for french english translations. Just for the record, I love french.

De mon avis le francais c'est la langue d'amour et de beautee. Il n'y as pas que une default et c'est que on aurais utilise trop des accents et truc comme ca.

Il est vrai que le francais est une langue merveilleuse mais je dois t'avouer que je n'ai pas completement saisi le sens de ta derniere phrase concernant les accents. Il serait interessant que tu etoffes davantage tes propos. Je crois comprendre que tu n'es pas francaise et j'aimerais connaitre tes origines; pour ma part, je suis norvegien mais j'ai utilise un traducteur sur le net.

I hope you do not mind that I reply in English. I must say it is clear that you used a net-translator, as there are some very strange constructions in your lines.

As for my origin: I come from the netherlands.

Where I was talking about accents: In french you need to add a lot of ', ` and ^ to various characters to write it correctly. I hate doing that in an typing enviroment, as I always forget about the proper ascii codes for those characters. (Using keyboard shortcuts sometimes yields very strange results for people using another browser or another font)
This leads to the fact that my written french is rather a sad excuse....
