I'm going to figure out where the boundries are for the different factions, this is of course after the shadow have come. I wasn't really thinking of placing certain planets, what do you guys think about what I should do as far as the Geography or whatever you call it in an entire univers. I could say different solar systems and map it out on paper and then go in to detail on the worlds.

Any suggestions on this matter?

More so the 'inner core' where most of the factions either exist or have borders to others.

You know there are stellar maps, ones that you can get the actual location of the stars in the Milky Way.  It includes the size and brighness of said stars so you can have a realistic galexy. You just need to insert if their is a habital planet or colony or station, and go from there.  It could save you a great deal of work.  

Tri-Tac's FTL 2448 had a map for our part of the milky way, you might be able to crib from that.

Somethign I did in the past that worked "ok" was to list the travel times and costs to travel to all the different systems(planets).  It resulted in a big chart (really big, even bigger than that :shock:), but it was handy to have at the gaming table.
