I study art, and my kind of art is fantasy art and anime...stuff like that! But i have been told time and time again that that is not art! So what is good art?

hey me too? ive been told that plenty o' times. jus ignore them (thats wot i do hehe)
it like all that modern art stuff...a piece of blue tack on the wall...thats not wot i call art. (modern or not!)

Good point.... I don't call that art either. It doesn't take any skill...how could you be proud of it?

Art is being misunderstood. You can hold a simple piece of paper, yet if you convince people they don't see art when you do because you are simply misunderstood, people will flock and say its a masterpiece to end all masterpieces!

Being an artist myself The only answer I can supply is art is in the eye of the beholder. I prefer to do landscapes and seascapes, though I do enjoy anime as well! I have never had anyone tell me that my artwork is not art. I guess it is because most people are afraind to argue with me!

Adel is right. Art is in the eye of the beholder.
Anime is art, in my opinion, but others don't think so.
I don't think that most modern (AKA idiot) art is art (I mean, trash bags strewn about an empty room!), but others do.

There Cap'n I must agree with you I don't find trash bags very artistic either but who am I to force my opinion on anyone else!
